Abstract:
A method of updating embedded universal integrated circuit cards (eUICCs) on wireless communication devices. The method comprises reviewing transactions associated with eUICCs on wireless communication devices by each of a plurality of mobile network operators (MNOs), based at least in part on reviewing the transactions by the MNOs, assigning each of the MNOs to one of a first tier, a second tier, and a third tier, receiving a eUICC transaction by an eUICC updating application executing on a computer from an MNO, determining by the eUICC updating application a tier the MNO is assigned to, and sending the eUICC transaction by the eUICC updating application to a wireless communication device subject to restrictions associated with the tier to which the MNO is assigned, whereby eUICC updating transactions of MNOs are restricted based on MNO tier assignments.
Abstract:
A universal integrated circuit card (UICC) smart card is disclosed. The UICC smart card comprises a processor, a non-transitory memory, a call control application stored in the non-transitory memory, and an application stored in the non-transitory memory. The call control application, when executed by the processor, receives dialed digits from a dialer application executing on a mobile communication device, wherein the UICC smart card is communicatively coupled to the mobile communication device and distributes the dialed digits within the UICC smart card. The application, when executed by the processor, receives the dialed digits distributed by the call control application, identifies a short code included in the dialed digits, selects instructions stored in the non-transitory memory based on the short code, and configures the UICC smart card by causing the processor to execute the selected instructions.
Abstract:
A minimization drive test (MDT) selection server computer. The server comprises a processor, a non-transitory memory; and an MDT selection application stored in the non-transitory memory. When executed by the processor the MDT selection application receives a mobile communication device selection criteria, where the criteria identifies a device candidate profile, determines a degree of match of a plurality of MDT candidate mobile communication devices to the device candidate profile, selects a population of mobile communication devices to perform the MDT based at least in part on the degree of match of the mobile communication devices to the device candidate profile, and causes the selected population of mobile communication devices to perform the MDT.
Abstract:
A mobile communication device. The device comprises a processor, a memory, an activation client stored in the memory, and a content client stored in the memory. When executed by the processor during a process of activating the device, the activation client establishes a slot-0 communication channel and completes an activation of the device with a provisioning server in the provisioning infrastructure via a plurality of activation messages exchanged via the slot-0 communication channel. When executed by the processor, the content client parses and analyzes the parsed activation messages, based on analyzing the parsed activation messages, sends a request for content to a media server over the slot-0 communication channel, receives the requested content via the slot-0 communication channel, and presents the received content in a first window of a split-screen in a visual display, where the activation client presents activation information in a second window of the split-screen.
Abstract:
A method, server, and media are provided for providing parallel multimedia conferences. A multimedia conference server enables a user to participate in several multimedia conferences simultaneously. The server receives a request to establish parallel multimedia conferences from a user. In turn, the server generates a data stream for the content of the each of the multimedia conferences associated with the user. The data stream may include transcriptions and notifications for the user. The multimedia conference server transmits the data stream and notifications to the user.
Abstract:
A method of resolving commercial content on a mobile communication device comprises determining whether to delegate interaction with an intelligent content distributor to the mobile communication device, wherein the interaction is related to resolving commercial content, wherein resolving commercial content comprises processing redirections of the commercial content, and wherein the commercial content comprises at least one of text, images, video, and other data intended to market a good or service; delaying resolving commercial content until the commercial content is to be displayed on the mobile communication device; caching commercial content on the mobile communication device; resolving, upon a request for the commercial content, a cached version of the commercial content; and prioritizing distribution of the commercial content based on characteristics of at least one of a requesting application and a user.
Abstract:
Systems, methods, and software for transferring text messages are provided herein. A method includes indicating to a wireless communication device a temporary address number, receiving an instruction from a user of the wireless communication device to transfer a text message to a destination number using the temporary address number instead of a device number of the wireless communication device. The method also includes transferring the text message for delivery to the destination number, receiving a response text message from the destination number indicating the temporary address number as a response destination number, and transferring the response text message for delivery to the routing node associated with the temporary address number. The method also includes translating the response destination number of the response text message into the device number of the wireless communication device, and transferring the response text message for delivery to the wireless communication device using the device number.
Abstract:
A system and media are provided for applying a policy associated with a content provider to handle an error message received from the content provider in response to a request from a user device. An error reply from the content provider in response to the request from the user device is received at a gateway, A reply to the user device is generated based on the error reply. The reply to the user device includes an indication of one or more user-agent measures for the user device to take. The user-agent measures are selected from: (A) updating a durable resource identifier to point to a new location for a resource, (B) updating a service identifier to point to a new provider of the service, (C) modifying an existing caching policy for the content provider, and (D) retrying the request at a specified future time.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the disclosure are directed to methods and systems for providing brand specific content and advertising content for use on a mobile device. A mobile device may comprise an operating system component operable to regulate the presentation of advertisement content on a mobile device. The operating system component may receive a template for the advertisement spaces on a device from a branding component. Then, the operating system component may request and receive advertisement content from an outside source. The mobile device may be compatible with multiple brands, and if the brand association is changed, the branding component may build a new template that reflects the updates.
Abstract:
A user's access to online content is controlled based at least in part on the type of access network utilized to access the content. When a request is received from a user via an access network to access online content, the access-network type and the content type are determined. A determination of a portion of the content to communicate to the user is made based on one or more policies that control access to the identified content type when transmitted via the identified access-network type, and the determined portion of the content is communicated to the user.
