    摘要: The present invention relates to a novel process for preparing 2,4,5-trimethylphenyl-acetic acid by reacting pseudocumene with dichloroacetyl chloride in a Friedel-Crafts reaction to give 2,2-dichloro-1-(2,4,5-trimethylphenyl)ethanone, converting the 2,2-dichloro-1-(2,4,5-trimethylphenyl)ethanone to 2,4,5-trimethylmandelic acid using an alkali metal hydroxide and reducing the 2,4,5-trimethylmandelic acid to 2,4,5-tri-methylphenylacetic acid.
