    摘要: In a molded surface fastener, a hook has vertical multi-step reinforcing ribs on opposite side surfaces of a stem, and it is therefore possible to make the hook-shape engaging portion adequately soft and to increase the rate of engagement with loops. Further, since each reinforcing rib extends to the curve of the hook-shape engaging portion, it is possible to secure a predetermined degree of engaging force, despite the thin and soft hook-shape engaging portion, unlike the simple reinforcing ribs of the conventional art.

Each of the lateral protective wall sections includes an outer first lateral wall section and an inner second lateral wall section. The first lateral wall section includes a continuous lateral wall body which is continuously placed between the left and right longitudinal protective wall sections at a predetermined height. The second lateral wall section includes a plurality of divided lateral wall bodies which are intermittently placed along a width direction, and a plurality of second engagement elements. According to this, when the molded surface fastener is integrally molded on a cushion body, it is possible to prevent resin material from entering an engagement element region of the surface fastener member.

    摘要: Hook structures for use in hook and loop or hook and engagement material fastening applications. Structures according to embodiments of the invention include hooks which extend from bases which in turn extend from a foundation and also extend laterally across the structures. The bases are separated by valleys which also extend laterally across the structures, whose height can be uniform laterally in the structures or varied. The bases provide suitable strength and support to allow the hooks to be robust and strong for permanent or semi-permanent fastening applications, while the valleys interposed between bases allow the hooks to penetrate sufficiently deeply into the engagement material for effective fastening to occur. Such structures may be formed according to processes which physically or conceptually employ various layers to support hooks, retention barrier members such as fingers interposed laterally between hooks, and/or for spacing such hooks and barriers as desired. Accordingly, structures can be formed according to the present invention using conventional ring-molding techniques (or any other desired techniques), to provide hook fasteners with excellent fastening strength and other desired properties typically required, for example, in semi-permanent or permanent fastening applications.

    摘要: The invention is a seat bun mold (10) with a recess (12) suitable for containing a fastener strip (18) to be molded into the seat bun, the recess (12) having an end wall (14) shaped so as to provide a snap-fit seal against the end of the fastener strip (18), in order to prevent fouling of the fastener strip (18) during the seat bun molding process. End wall (14) extends from the bottom to the top of the recess (12), and substantially curves inward along its lower extent and outward along its upper extent. The end of fastener strip (18) is snapped into recess (12) by first aligning fastener strip (18) over recess (12) and then exerting downward pressure. The tension of the end of fastener strip (18) against end wall (14) forms a seal to prevent intrusion of liquid molding material through end wall (14) of recess (12).
