    摘要: A cleaning method is provided for electrostatic copying apparatus of the transfer type in which a polarizable magnetic toner is used as a developer to remove residual toner from the surface of a photoconductive member after the transfer of toner images. The method comprises the steps of charging the toner remaining on the surface of the photoconductive member to the same polarity as the charge for sensitizing the surface of the photoconductive member after the transfer of a toner image, uniformly exposing the photoconductive surface simultaneously with or after the charging step, and thereafter removing the residual toner from the photoconductive surface by magnetic attraction.

    摘要: A copying machine of the diazo type comprises a light exposure zone for exposing to light a diazo type photosensitive sheet superposed with an original, a development zone for developing the light exposed photosensitive sheet and a delivery mechanism for feeding the original and diazo type photosensitive sheet to the light exposure zone and forwarding the light exposed photosensitive sheet to the development zone. The light exposure zone includes a transparent cylinder capable of rotating while having a superposed assembly of the original and photosensitive sheet closely contacting the outer surface thereof and a heat-generating light source mounted in the interior of the transparent cylinder. The transparent cylinder has a fan for feeding cold air into the transparent cylinder from one end thereof and cooling the outer surface of the transparent cylinder substantially uniformly along the entire length thereof and a temperature-detecting mechanism thermoconductively contacting the outer surface of the transparent cylinder to detect the temperature of the outer surface. A temperature-controlling mechanism is provided to control the air feed rate of the fan in response to signals from the temperature detecting mechanism, to control the temperature of the outer surface of the transparent cylinder within a predetermined temperature range.

    摘要: An electrophotograhic copying process forms an electrostatic latent image on the surface of a photosensitive member, developes the image by applying a monocomponent developer to the latent image to form a toner image, transfers the thus formed toner image by contacting a receptor sheet with the photosensitive member to transfer the toner image to the surface of the receptor sheet, fixes the toner image onto the surface of the receptor sheet, eliminates electrostatic charge from the photosensitive member by irradiating the surface of the photosensitive member with an electrostatic eliminating lamp after the toner image has been transferred to the receptor sheet, and cleans the surface of the photosensitive member by removing the developer remaining on the surface thereof. A developer-holding member holds the same kind of developer as used in the developing step on the surface of said developer-holding member by a stationary magnet disposed within the developer-holding member, and the surface of the developer-holding member is moved in a direction opposite to the direction of movement of the surface of the photosensitive member while contacting the two surfaces through the layer of the developer to mechanically brush the surface of the photosensitive member by the layer of the developer. The magnet having a plurality of poles, and the magnetic pole which is located closest to a position at which the surface of the developer-holding member is closest to the surface of the photosensitive member is downstream in the rotation direction of the developer-holding member by a certain angle with respect to the position at which the two surfaces are closest to each other.

    摘要: A method of and apparatus for synchronously transferring an original and a sheet of copying paper for electrostatic photoduplication. A paper feeding device feeds the sheets of copying paper one at a time until the front edge reaches a predetermined position at a front edge stop. The sheet of copying paper is held at the predetermined position on standby for a period of time, and then a paper transfer device transfers it to move the front edge to an exposure point. At the same time an original placed on a mount is moved from a stopping point in the cycle of movement of the mount to a position in which the leading edge of the original is at an irradiation point optically aligned with the exposure point. The period of time during which the copying paper is fed from the supply, held in the predetermined position, and then moved to the exposure position is equal to the time for moving the mount for the original from a predetermined point along the path of movement of the mount to the irradiation point. Thereafter, the original is moved past the irradiation point synchronously with transfer of the copying paper past the exposure point at a predetermined rate for exposing the copying paper to the image from the original.
