    摘要: A paper guiding device in a copying apparatus includes, in opposition, a lower guide plate having a main flat portion and an upper guide plate having a main flat portion. A plurality of rising pieces, having top edges and being laterally spaced apart upon the upper side of the main flat portion of the lower guide plate, rise above the lower guide plate and extend in the direction of movement of the copying paper. A plurality of hanging pieces, having lower edges and are laterally spaced apart on the lower side of the main flat portion of the lower guide plate, hang from the upper guide plate and extend in the direction of movement of the copying paper. The top edges and the lower edges define a path of movement of the copying paper while having minimal contact with the paper. A plurality of openings through the upper guide plate and an opening through each of the hanging pieces dissipate heat from the copying paper to substantially prevent the accumulation of moisture on the copying paper and in the improved paper guiding device.

    摘要: A supporting mechanism of a document cover lid to be used for a copying apparatus includes a base of a supporting member mounted to the upper portion of an apparatus housing so as to swing about a horizontal axis. A positioning member is mounted on one of either the apparatus housing or the supporting member has a first frictional surface which is a circular periphery in a vertical plane with respect to the horizontal axis. A contact member is mounted on the other of either the apparatus housing or the supporting member and, has a second frictional surface, which is a circular periphery in a vertical plane with respect to the horizontal axis and is elastically pushed against the first frictional surface. By this mechanism, it is possible to support the document cover lid in an opened position upwardly at an angle sufficient to replace an original document.

    摘要: A transfer type electrostatic copying apparatus in which the area of a photosensitive member cleaned by a cleaning device reaches an exposure zone simultaneously or prior to the arrival of a movable portion of an optical system or an original carrier at an exposure starting position from a home position thereof. This results in clear and definite copied images being obtained. At the earlier stage at which the movable portion of the optical system or the original carrier starts moving, the photosensitive member is subjected to the cleaning process, and then the exposure process is effected when the movable portion or the original carrier is running stably. Thus, the electrostatic latent image obtained by the exposure are clear and definite and free from undesirable blurs. The photosensitive member is a rotary drum having bosses connected at opposite axial ends thereof which are removably mounted in holder members on the sidewalls of the copying apparatus. A conical-shaped shaft which rotatably supports the drum has a threaded portion thereon which cooperates with a threaded portion in one of the bosses to secure the shaft to the bosses.

    摘要: A cleaning device in an electrostatic copying apparatus, for removing residual toner particles from the surface of a photosensitive member adapted to move through an endless conveying passage, includes a blade holding mechanism mounted pivotally around an axis extending substantially parallel to the surface of the photosensitive member and substantially perpendicular to the moving direction of the photosensitive member, and a cleaning blade mounted on the blade holding mechanism. The cleaning device further includes a first spring elastically biasing the blade holding mechanism to a non-operating position in which the cleaning blade is away from the surface of the photosensitive member and an operating mechanism selectively positioning the blade holding mechanism against the elastic biasing action of the first spring to an operating position in which the cleaning blade is pressed against the surface of the photosensitive member. The operating mechanism includes a clutch with an input drivingly connected to the photosensitive member drive system, a cam, a cam follower, and a power transmission arrangement for transmitting power from the cam to position the blade holding mechanism so that the cleaning blade is pressed against the surface of the photosensitive member. The power transmission arrangement includes a first power transmission member, having an input terminal on which the cam acts, and a second power transmission member, having an output terminal acting on the blade holding mechanism.

    摘要: An electrostatic copying apparatus including a support frame having a front support wall and a rear support frame. The support frame is mounted on a housing slidably in the front and rear direction between an operating position within the housing and a pull-out position outside of the housing. A rotating drum and a developing device are mounted on the support frame. Each of the rear surface of the front support wall and the front surface of the rear support wall has a semicircular receiving portion with an open top, and each end of the rotating drum has a shaft bearing member with a circular peripheral surface. By inserting each bearing member into the associated receiving portion, the drum is rotatably mounted. The developing device has a front wall and a rear wall, with a projecting portion formed at the end of each. An abutting lower edge is defined on each projecting portion, and an abutting front edge is defined on each of the front wall and the rear wall, below the projecting portion. The developing device is mounted between the front support wall and the rear support wall with each abutting lower edge abutting against the upper surface of the associated bearing member when that associated bearing member is inserted into its associated receiving portion and with each abutting front edge abutting against the side surface of the associated receiving portion.
