Abstract:
The present invention involves a headbox and manifold system for producing a multi-ply paper which includes a plurality of mixing systems for generation of stock suspension flows of differing concentrations and a distribution manifold for providing a different stock suspension for each of the plies. For at least one of the plies, two conduits or manifolds are used to carry stock suspensions of differing concentrations thereby permitting the adjustment of the concentration of the stock suspension used to form that ply. Each manifold is fixed to the support structure of the paper making machine and runs transverse to the machine direction. Each of the manifolds is in fluid communication with the movable headbox by means of flexible lines of equal length. After discharge from the flexible lines the stock suspensions are routed through turbulence generators before being discharged from the headbox through a slice nozzle to form a multi-ply paper web. The slice nozzle has a width at least as large as the paper web which is formed.
Abstract:
A method for improving the quality of multilayer and multiply papers in the wet section of a paper machine, wherein at least two stock suspensions of different quality are used for producing a paper web. The wire water removed through the paper machine wire is collected in separate vessels and recycled. At least the major part of a first stock suspension is dewatered through a first wire, while at least the major part of a second stock suspension is dewatered through a second wire. The wire water removed through each of the wires is collected, separately from the other wire water, and recycled to the stock suspension of the same layer.
Abstract:
A throttle device for stock suspensions in a paper machine including a feed line, a drain line and a spatially variable cavity connecting the feed line and drain line with each other. The cavities provided with a plurality of nestable walls in which the nesting effects a lengthening of the flow path.
Abstract:
Paper machine for producing paper that can be gravure printed from a fibrous stock suspension, and a related method. The paper machine includes a pressing section having at least one press nip, an impingement dryer arranged immediately after the pressing section, and an applicator. The applicator applies a coating color in the manner of at least one of a curtain application, a film application, or a spraying application.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a paper machine for producing paper that can be gravure printed from a fibrous stock suspension, and a related method. The paper machine includes a wire section, a pressing section, a drying section, and a winding section for winding the produced paper on a paper roll. Additionally, the paper machine includes a film press having a film roll for applying a coating color and a calender arranged downstream of the film press.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for producing a paper web or another fibrous web. According to said method, the fibrous web is impinged upon by pressure in the penultimate press nip and then in a last press nip of a press section. One face of the fibrous web is in contact with a smooth surface when penetrating the penultimate press nip while the other face of the fibrous web is in contact with a smooth surface the when penetrating the last press nip.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a paper machine for the production of a paper, board, tissue or other fibrous web (2), comprising a press section (1) having at least one press nip and comprising an impingement dryer (13) arranged immediately after the press section. The invention is characterized in that the paper machine has an applicator (17) for applying a coating color in the manner of a curtain (21) or for the film application (26) of coating color or for spraying (31) coating color on.
Abstract:
Machine for producing a fibrous material web and process for guiding the web through the machine. The machine includes a wire section, a drying section, arranged downstream of the wire section with regard to a web travel direction, having at least one free web draw, a first and second shoe press separated in the web travel direction, and an upper felt and a lower transfer belt arranged to guide the fibrous material web through the second shoe press. The lower transfer belt is structured and arranged to transfer the fibrous material web to the drying section, and the material web is guided in a closed draw from the wire section to a first free web draw, with regard to the web travel direction, in the drying section. At least one high-performance drying device is positioned before the first free web draw.
Abstract:
Apparatus and process for dewatering a material web. The apparatus includes at least one pressure chamber formed by at least four substantially parallel rolls, a device arranged to introduce a pressurized gas into the at least one pressure chamber, and the at least four substantially parallel rolls being displaceable relative to one another to change an effective area of the at least one pressure chamber. The material web is guided through the at least one pressure chamber. The process includes pressurizing at least one pressure chamber with a gas medium, guiding the material web through the pressure chamber, driving water out of the material web using gas pressure within the at least one pressure chamber, and changing an effective area of the pressure chamber so as to adjust a dewatering capacity.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for variably controlling fluid flow in a closed flow line, especially the flow of a pulp suspension through a headbox of a paper-making machine, includes guiding fluid through a cavity of a conduit having at least two different cross-sectional profiles. Fluid flow resistance is adjusted by changing the contour of an edge defined by the conduit and a transition step connecting the two cross-sections.
