摘要: A disc may be inserted or ejected from a turntable of an optical disc drive without applying excessive force to the disc, and the disc is securely locked onto the turntable when the disc is being rotated. The optical disc drive includes a turntable having a protruding boss for insertion into a mounting hole formed on a disc. First locks are disposed at the outer circumference of the boss, such that the first locks can move in the radial direction of the boss to lock the disc located on the turntable. Elastic members provide an elastic force to the first locks. A magnetic member is disposed above the boss, and a second lock disposed in the boss increases a locking force of the first locks only when the second lock interacts with the magnetic member.

摘要: A side rearview mirror control system for a vehicle that automatically changes a rear viewing angle of a side rearview mirror. The control system receives various vehicle inputs to determine if and when a vehicle operator will turn the vehicle, make a lane change, merge into a lane of traffic, etc. The system pivots the mirror to eliminate a potential blind spot during these conditions. In one embodiment, the rear view mirror control system receives input signals from a vehicle hand-wheel angle sensor, a vehicle yaw rate sensor, a vehicle speed sensor, a turn signal indicator, a global positioning system (GPS) receiver and map information to determine whether the vehicle is turning or will be turning.

摘要: An apparatus for monitoring asthmatic conditions takes the form of a data logger for attaching to a spacer. The spacer has a chamber with an input end and an output end and defining an interior space wherein the input end receives a medication discharge from a discharge orifice of a canister of medication into the interior space and wherein the medication can be withdrawn from the interior space by inhalation by a patient from the output end. The data logger is mounted to the spacer and may include such sensors as pressure transducers and accelerometers. The sensors may be arranged to measure various aspects of the environment of the spacer, such as a pressure change induced by the inhalation of the medicine from the chamber. A memory may also be included for recording the measurements for later transfer to another device for processing and analysis.

摘要: There is provided a method of synthesizing a musical instrument digital interface (MIDI) having wave table support. The wave table sample information is modified based on the newly searched loop segment, the interval of the newly searched loop segment, and the fine tune data. Therefore, the size of the wave table can be reduced.

摘要: A mathematically driven system which can be used to diagnose a student's strengths and weaknesses and provide studying strategies based on these strengths and weaknesses. The invention bases studying suggestions not on raw test scores or on simple metrics such as “percent correct”, but on the student's potential to increase their test score by studying a particular topic. The inventive method includes the steps of administering an exam with composite questions relating to a subject and an associated study strategy therefor; analyzing results of said exam to diagnose strengths and weaknesses of a student with respect to said subjects and strategies; and outputting data with respect to optimal strategies for the student with respect to said subjects.
