摘要: A method and apparatus by which a reception device of a communication system can sense and compensate for an error of a program clock reference (PCR), and can sense and compensate for bit rate variation of transmission data in a transmitted MPEG-2 TS. The method and apparatus compensates for a PCR jitter, or a change in a data bit rate, which may occur in processing an MPEG-2 TS in a reception device of the MPEG-2 TS transmission system, thereby preventing the deterioration of image quality due to the jitter or loss of an input MPEG-2 TS data. The apparatus includes a PAT sensing unit for sensing a PAT from a received MPEG-2 TS, a PMT sensing unit for sensing a PMT based on information provided from the PAT sensing unit, a PCR PID unit for sensing a PCR PID based on information provided from the PMT sensing unit and a PCR data unit for outputting a PCR data based on information provided from the PMT sensing unit and PID information provided from the PCR PID unit. The apparatus also includes a PCR comparison/compensation unit receiving the PCR data from the PCR data unit, comparing the received PCR data with a pre-stored PCR data, and compensating for the pre-stored PCR data, and a data rate comparison/compensation unit for receiving data rate information from the PCR data unit, comparing the received data rate with a pre-stored data rate, and compensating for the pre-stored data rate.

摘要: A method of configuring system layers for a synchronous Ethernet is provided. In the method, a physical layer takes charge of input and output of an Ethernet frame in direct relation to hardware, an xMII (x Media Independent Interface) layer connects the physical layer to a data link layer. The data link layer has a sync frame processor for processing a synchronous frame and an async frame processor for processing an asynchronous frame. A parser and multiplexer (MUX), included in the x MII layer, construct a super frame with a synchronous frame and an asynchronous frame, transmit the super frame through the physical layer, parse a received super frame into a synchronous frame and an asynchronous frame, and transmit the synchronous and asynchronous frames to the data link layer.

摘要: Disclosed is a self-healing apparatus and method of an optical receiver that is capable of avoiding error due to temperature variation in the optical receiver when determining the bit rate. The apparatus includes an optoelectric converting unit for converting an input optical signal into an electrical signal; an amplifying unit for amplifying the electrical signal outputted from the optoelectric converting unit; a bit rate discriminating unit for exclusively OR'ing the electrical signal with a delay signal that is delayed from the amplified receiving signal by a predetermined time, thereby outputting a recognition signal; a clock/data reproducing unit for receiving the electrical signal, and for reproducing clocks and data based on a reference clock; a bit rate signal generating unit for generating the reference clock in response to a bit rate change signal; a temperature sensing unit for outputting a temperature sensing signal that is indicative of the internal temperature of the optical receiver; and, a control unit for determining the bit rate of the receiving signal based on a value selected from temperature-dependent voltage level variation values that are previously stored, on the basis of the voltage level of the recognition signal outputted from the bit rate discriminating unit and the internal temperature of the optical receiver corresponding to the temperature sensing signal, and for outputting the bit rate change signal based on the determined bit rate.

摘要: In an MPEG-2 decoding system, a transport decoder decodes a transport packet corresponding to a Program Identification (PID) from an input transport stream, and retrieves a Program Association Table/Program Map Table PAT/PMT) from the stream when it is requested to retrieve Program Specific lnformation (PSI). A pre-decoder checks PSI stored in a PSI memory in response to a request to change to a desired channnel, reads PIDs of transport packets for a Packetized Elementary Stream (PES) of a program corresponding to the desired channel from the PSI memory to provide it to the transport decoder, receives the PAT/PMT and updates the contents of the memory using the PAT/PMT. After decoding, PSI previously extracted therefrom is stored in the memory. PIDs of transport packets for the PES of desired program are obtained referring to the stored PSI, and transport packets having the PIDs are retrieved and decoded.

摘要: A broadcast/communication convergence system and method for transmitting and receiving Ethernet data by an optical network unit (ONU) performing a time division multiplexing (TDM) operation and switching by a network switch. A resultant signal is transmitted to a corresponding subscriber set-top box (SSTB), and data from the SSTB is provided to the network switch. A length of an Ethernet data frame is provided from the network switch, and an encapsulation generates and inserts data length information into an Ethernet data frame, for transmission to the SSTB. The SSTB carries out a TDM operation for a signal transmitted from the ONU, and separates the signal into Ethernet and broadcast data. A framing bit is detected based on a result of the separated signals, the length information is detected. A preamble bit and a start-of-field delimiter (SFD) are inserted into the recognized Ethernet data to recover the original Ethernet data.

摘要: A system having a transmitter and a receiver provides sign language video data in a broadcasting-communication convergence system. A transmitter extracts data, to which a sign language is to be applied, from the multimedia data, converts the extracted data into motion data, converts the motion data into an avatar motion schema indicative of avatar motion data, converts the avatar motion schema into metadata, multiplexes the multimedia data and the metadata, and transmits the multiplexed data. A receiver receives the multiplexed data, demultiplexes the received multiplexed data, extracts an avatar motion schema using the metadata, generates sign language video data by controlling a motion of an avatar through the avatar motion schema, multiplexes the sign language video data and the multimedia data, and transmits the multiplexed data to a display unit.
