    摘要： An adjustable fastener for interconnecting a first and a second part of an article includes a flat hollow sleeve having a first connecting portion for attachment to the first part, a plug having a second connecting portion for attachment to the second part, a flat body slidably received in a longitudinal guide channel in the sleeve, a locking member slidably held within a transverse guide groove in the sleeve and having a pusher head at an end thereof, and at least one locking projection releasably engageable with one of a row of teeth on the plug body for locking the plug in position against displacement, and a spring held within the sleeve for normally retaining the locking projection in locking engagement with the one tooth and keeping the pusher head to project outwardly of the sleeve. The locking member is movable along the guide groove to disengage the locking projection from the one tooth against the force of the spring when the pusher head is depressed.

    摘要： A method of heat setting spaced fastener elements on a fastener chain includes contracting a formed thermoplastic wire constituting the fastener elements, while heating the fastener chain to which the formed wire is affixed, until the pitch of the fastener elements attains a predetermined value smaller than the value of a desired pitch and subsequently cooling the formed wire while the wire is stretched to provide the desired element spacing. Apparatus for practicing the method includes a rotated heating wheel having circumferential teeth the pitch whereof is less than the desired element pitch in order to engage and contract the formed thermoplastic wire while the fastener chain bearing the wire is heated, a rotated cooling wheel having circumferential teeth the pitch whereof is equal to the desired element pitch in order to engage and stretch the molded wire while the fastener chain, received from the heating wheel, is cooled, and means for heating the fastener chain as the chain traverses the outer periphery of the heating wheel.

    摘要： A swivel hook comprises a hook body including a housing body having a housing chamber which has a opening facing toward a side thereof and a pair of overhangs formed in opposed inner surfaces of the housing chamber, a hook proper provided on the housing body, a latch member mounted on the housing body and being movable into or out of engagement with the hook proper and biasing means mounted on the housing body for normally biasing the latch member causing it to come into engagement with the hook proper; an annular link having a connecting axle provided on one side thereof, the connecting axle having an enlarged head formed on its distal end, the connecting axle rotatably mounted in the housing chamber through the opening with the enlarged head engaging the overhangs; and a plug member closing the opening, thus confining the enlarged head in the housing chamber so that the connecting ring is pivotally and retentively mounted on the hook body.
