摘要： Linear materials for fasteners, particularly monofilaments, which possess pearly luster and retain this pearly luster intact even after being dyed and a method for the production thereof are disclosed. A polyester, particularly polyethylene terephthalate, is blended with 1 to 10% by weight of polypropylene and the resultant blend is subjected to melt spinning. The undrawn filament thus obtained possesses pearly luster and can be used as a raw material for fastener parts presenting an appearance of high quality. The undrawn filament has the dyeability thereof adjusted without noticeably affecting the degree of shrinkage when it is drawn at a temperature in the range of from 70.degree. to 98.degree. C. Thus, the monomiflaments for fasteners which possess pearly luster and are allowed to be dyed in colors harmonized with the colors of fastener tapes can be produced.

摘要： The present invention provides fastener elements for use in a slide fastener in which, regardless of the quality of material, a metallic coating layer having an excellent adhesiveness and 0.001 to 1.0 .mu.m in thickness is simply and easily formed on the surface of a fastener element member so that the surface thereof gives out the luster of metal. The surface of the metallic coating layer may further be formed at least thereon with a finishing coat layer. In the present invention, there is further provided a slide fastener having a light weight and flexibility in which such a fastener element member as being made synthetic resin having the luster of metal on the surface thereof.

摘要： A stringer combining apparatus includes a stringer combining guide section. The guide section has an outer guide member located at the junction of guide groove portions which in combination constitute a Y-shaped guide groove, the member being made resiliently movable in the outward direction, thereby allowing the passage of even members other than fastener elements attached to a stringer. The apparatus further includes a conveyor device for conveying the stringers through the guide section. The guide section is made movable in the direction parallel with the moving direction of the stringers. The guide section is moved by a fluid-pressure cylinder device. Alternatively, the guide section is pressed by the action of a spring toward the downstream side in terms of the conveying direction of the stringers and is maintained at a predetermined operation position by a stopper against the pressing force of the spring and is further made movable against the pressing force of the spring when a force of a predetermined magnitude acts on the guide section toward the upstream side.

摘要： A slide-fastener stringer has a tape formed from a ground weave with double wefts interwoven with a warp and a coupling element disposed along the edge of the tape and held thereto by binding warps. The coupling element is of the type in which a synthetic resin monofilament is coiled to form coupling heads whose shanks are disposed one above the other so that they have a common projection in the slide fastener plane. The shanks are connected to those of successive heads by bights. The coupling warp comprises a plurality of warp yarns whose patterns are offset by two picks and which each pass over two coupling elements, under a double weft between coupling elements, over another coupling element and then under the next coupling element in a repeating pattern.

摘要： For the manufacture of a continuous coupling element of zigzag or meandering type, a blank strip of sheetlike material is first cut by rotary cutters into a continuous rodlike member of zigzag configuration. This zigzagging rodlike member is reshaped, as by a cooperative pair of forming dies, into meandering configuration in which the major transverse portions of the rodlike member are arranged parallel to each other with constant longitudinal spacings. Pressure is then applied centrally to each transverse portion of the meandering rodlike member to form a pair of lateral protuberances for use as a coupling head in the completed coupling element, and these transverse portions are bent by a combination guide channel-toothed wheel into the shape of a "U".
