摘要: A light receiving member has a support and a light receiving layer. The light receiving layer has an inner layer composed of a-Si(Ge,Sn)(H,X) and an outer layer composed of a-Si(H,X) containing neither germanium atoms nor tin atoms. The support has an uneven surface of spherical dimples, each having an inside face provided with minute irregularities. The light receiving member exhibits high photosensitivity in the entire visible region of light; exhibits an excellent matching property with a semiconductor laser and shows quick light response. The member is suited for image formation by using coherent light, free from interference fringe patterns and spots upon reversed development even after repeated use for a long period of time. The member is free from defective images or blurring, shows high density with clear half tones, has a high resolving power, and can provide high quality images.

摘要: There is provided a light receiving member which comprises a support and a light receiving layer having a photosensitive layer composed of amorphous material containing silicon atoms and at least either germanium atoms or tin atoms and a surface layer, said surface layer being of multi-layered structure having at least an abrasion-resistant layer at the outermost side and a reflection preventive layer in the inside, and said support having a surface provided with irregularities composed of spherical dimples. The light receiving member overcomes all of the problems in the conventional light receiving member comprising a light receiving layer composed of an amorphous silicon and, in particular, effectively prevents the occurrence of interference fringe in the formed images due to the interference phenomenon thereby forming visible images of excellent quality even in the case of using coherent laser beams possible producing interference as a light source.

摘要: A method of manufacturing a recorded matter having an ink-receiving layer of a porous structure. The ink-receiving layer has an image region where an image is formed with a coloring material. The method includes the steps of (i) applying an ink to the ink-receiving layer to obtain an image region where an image is formed with a coloring material contained in the ink, (ii) applying a liquid comprising a non-volatile liquid not dissolving the coloring material to the ink-receiving layer, and (iii) forming a portion in which all or substantially all of the coloring material distributed in a thickness direction of the ink-receiving layer is embedded in the non-volatile liquid by rubbing the non-volatile liquid after it is applied. The non-volatile liquid contains an ester of a saturated fatty acid and an alcohol.

摘要: A liquid ejection head includes a liquid path; an ejection outlet forming member which constitutes a part of a wall of the liquid and which forms an ejection outlet for ejecting a droplet of liquid; a heat generating element, provided at a position opposing to the ejection outlet of the wall of the liquid flow path, for generating a bubble in the liquid by application of heat to the liquid; a restrictor portion, provided at a recessed portion of the ejection outlet, wherein the recessed portion is recessed from a plane in which the ejection outlet is formed, wherein the liquid forms a meniscus and is retained in the ejection outlet such that the restrictor portion is within the liquid, wherein an area So of an opening of the restrictor portion and a surface Sh of the heat generating element satisfy So≦Sh. According to this invention, a central portion of the meniscus opposed to the fine opening at the ejection outlet bulges, and the liquid is ejected in this state. Namely, very small amount of the liquid can be ejected, since not all of the liquid in the recess portion in the ejection outlet is ejected.
