摘要: On a back surface of a back substrate on which electron emission sources are formed, a getter room is formed by the back substrate and a cup-shaped room member. In the inside of the getter room, a getter assembly which includes a getter housing which holds a getter and a getter support which supports the getter housing is arranged. End portions of the getter support are fixed to and arranged between the back substrate and the room member by a sealing material. The present invention provides an image display device which prevents the occurrence of cracks in the getter room thus suppressing the degradation of a display characteristic of the image display device.

摘要: In an image display device which forms an image by allowing electrons from electron sources which are arranged in a matrix array to impinge on phosphors in the inside of a vacuum envelope, the degree of vacuum during an operation of the image display device is improved. A vacuum envelope is formed of a face substrate, a back substrate and a support body which is arranged between and along peripheries of the face substrate and the back substrate using a sealing material. By using frit glass which contains vanadium oxide as a main component for a material of the sealing material, due to a getter action of frit glass which contains vanadium oxide as the main component, after vacuum evacuation, a lifetime of the display device can be prolonged. Further, by using frit glass which contains vanadium oxide as the main component for a material of an adhesive material which bonds the spacers and the face substrate or bonds the spacers and the back glass, the getter action can be further enhanced. Further, by applying frit glasses which contain vanadium oxide as a main component to side surfaces of the spacers or portions of the inside of the display device which do not influence the formation of image by coating, the getter action can be further enhanced.

摘要: In an image display device which includes a frame body which is arranged between a back substrate and a face substrate, a phosphor screen which is arranged on the face substrate, and an anode lead line for introducing a high voltage which is arranged between the phosphor screen and a voltage source, the anode lead line is covered with at least a portion of the frame body. According to the present invention, it is possible to obtain an image display device having a prolonged lifetime and capable of performing a high quality display while ensuring the conduction of a high voltage which is applied to a phosphor screen side.

摘要: A display device is disclosed for providing improved brightness and definition. The device includes a substrate which has anodes and phosphors formed on an inner surface thereof and a plurality of cathode lines that extend in one direction and include electron sources. Control electrodes are provided in a display region in a non-contrast manner. The control electrodes are formed on an inner surface of a back substrate and arranged to face a face substrate in an opposing manner. A support body is interposed between the face substrate and the back substrate such that the support body surrounds the display region and maintains a given distance. The device also includes a plurality of getters arranged between the support body and the partition wall body.

摘要: By forming chamfered portions on corner portions of a spacer, a contact area between the spacer and a fixing material is enlarged. Side surfaces of the spacer including the chamfered portions are embedded into the inside of the fixing material and hence, an adhesion area of the spacer with the fixing material is enlarged thus enhancing an adhesion strength. As a result, a fixing strength of the spacers which hold a space between a back panel and a face panel in vacuum is enhanced.

摘要: A cold cathode display device includes a plurality of spacers in a space defined between a face substrate and a back substrate. The spacers are held by two fixing means consisting of fixing by fusion of a fixing material and fixing by dissolution of the fixing material. The invention provides an image display device which can realize the large-sizing of display size, the high-quality display and the prolonged lifetime by preventing the inclination and the removal of the spacers thus assuring the fixing strength and ensuring the parallelism and the panel strength of both substrates.

摘要: A plurality of spacers are arranged between a face substrate and a back substrate of a planar image display device and both ends of each spacer are respectively fixed to the face substrate and the back substrate using a fixing material which contains a conductive component and 10 to 90 wt % of vitrifying component. Due to such a constitution, the display device can ensure the parallelism of both substrates and a panel strength by ensuring a fixing strength and conductive properties of the spacers. Accordingly, the display device can realize the large-sizing of a display size and the high-quality display. The display device also can prolong the lifetime.

摘要: The present invention ensures the hermetic bonding of a support body which is interposed between a face substrate and a back substrate and is formed of a plurality of members thus easily realizing the large-sizing of a screen of a display image and, at the same time, enhancing a hermetic property holding function of the image display device. A support body is interposed between a face substrate and a back substrate while surrounding a display region and hermetically seals both substrates using a sealing material. The support body is formed by hermetically bonding a plurality of support body members each other using a bonding material which has a softening point higher than a softening point of the sealing material.

摘要: A display device of the present invention reduces the occurrence of cracks and breaking of plate-like control electrodes, enhances the operability of assembling and suppresses the reduction of a yield factor of products. The display device includes a back substrate which has a plurality of cathode lines which extend in one direction, are arranged in parallel in another direction which crosses one direction and include electron sources respectively, and a plurality of control electrodes which cross the cathode lines in a non-contact manner within a display region, extend in another direction and are arranged in parallel in one direction on an inner surface thereof, and a front substrate which has anodes and phosphors on an inner surface thereof and faces the back substrate with a given distance therebetween. The control electrodes are formed of plate-like control electrodes. The plate-like control electrode includes electron passing holes which allow electrons emitted from the electron sources to pass therethrough in the display region. Further, the plate-like control electrode has a portion which is fixed to the back substrate in an external non-display region. Still further, the plate-like control electrode has at least a portion in the external non-display region where the strength of the plate-like control electrode is gradually changed toward an end portion thereof in the extending direction.

Projecting portions, which are constituted of distal end portions of the rod-like members, extend outwardly and are provided on a side of the support body outside of the display region.
