Abstract: A radio frequency (RF) identification (RFID) reader calibration system for use with a venue includes an RFID reader having a primary identifier and a plurality of secondary identifiers. The primary identifier and each of the plurality of secondary identifiers having a respective unobstructed line of sight to a point on the floor of the venue. The RFID reader calibration system also includes a data capture device configured to be aimed at the primary identifier and the plurality of secondary identifiers and to capture respective coordinates of the primary identifier and each of the plurality of secondary identifiers. The RFID reader calibration system also includes a controller configured to determine: a location of the RFID reader based on the coordinates of the primary identifier; and an orientation of the RFID reader based on the respective coordinates of the primary identifier and each of the plurality of secondary identifiers.

Abstract: Systems and methods for improving tag locationing are disclosed herein. An example system comprises: a plurality of tags configured to transmit data in response to requests; and a gateway that polls the plurality of tags at a first polling rate. The gateway may be configured to: receive a first request, in response to receiving the first request, transmit a signal to the plurality of tags that causes a first subset of the plurality of tags to transmit the data at a second polling rate that is different from the first polling rate, and receive the data from a second subset of the plurality of tags at the first polling rate.

Abstract: Systems and methods for system for tag polling are disclosed herein. An example system includes: a tag associated with an asset; an anchor configured to poll the tag at a first transmission rate and determine an angle-of-arrival (AOA) based on signal data received from the tag; and a server communicatively coupled with the anchor. The server may be configured to: receive first information corresponding to the tag, the first information being indicative of one or more first instances where the anchor polls the tag at a second transmission rate that is different from the first transmission rate. The server may further be configured to receive, from the anchor, a tag listing that includes the tag, determine a first instance occurrence for the tag based on the first information, and transmit a request to the anchor that causes the anchor to poll the tag at the second transmission rate.

Abstract: Systems and apparatuses for dual-mode pressure-sensing and illumination mats are provided. The systems include a surface that includes a plurality of row wires and a plurality of column wires forming intersection points. At the intersection points, the systems include a pressure sensor configured to sense a pressure exerted upon the surface and a light emitting diode (LED) connected in parallel. The systems include a controller coupled to the selector and configured to control operation of the surface, wherein the controller is configured to operate in one of a pressure-sensing mode or an illumination mode. When the controller is configured to operate in the pressure-sensing mode, the controller scans pressure values provided by the pressure sensors. When the controller is configured to operate in the illumination mode, the controller configures the surface to enable the LEDs in accordance with an illumination pattern.

Abstract: An adhesive label application system is disclosed. The adhesive label application system may detect that a label has been received within an adhesive application zone of a robotic device. The adhesive label application system may remove, via a first mechanism, a portion of the label from the adhesive application zone. The adhesive label application system may convey, via a second mechanism, an adhesive, of an adhesive-carrying tape, to the adhesive application zone. The adhesive label application system may position, via the first mechanism, the portion of the label within the adhesive application zone after the adhesive is positioned within the adhesive application zone. The adhesive label application system may press, via a third mechanism, the portion of the label to the adhesive to apply the adhesive to the label. The adhesive label application system may configure the label to be adhered to a receiving surface via the adhesive.
