摘要: An attachment mechanism adapted for attachment of an armor element to a body to be protected by the armor element, the attachment mechanism comprising a first unit and a second unit which are adapted to engage with each other to provide the attachment comprises a second static member and a working member. One of the static members is adapted for fixed attachment to the armor element, and the other is adapted for fixed attachment to the body to be protected. The mechanism further comprises a screw-free locking arrangement between the two static members, defined by a locking gap associated with a locking body portion in the first static member, and a locking tongue portion of the working member in the second unit. The locking tongue portion is displaceable relative to the second static member so as to move into the locking gap to assume a locked position in which at least in one cross-sectional plane of the mechanism, the locking body portion of the first static member separates between the locking tongue portion of the working member and a portion of the second static member.

摘要: Provided is a semi-fabricated armor layer for use in the production of an armor panel configured to protect a body from an incoming projectile, including a carrier and a plurality of armor elements. Each armor element has front and rear end surfaces and a side surface extending therebetween along a height axis of the element. The carrier is flexible and each of a majority of the armor elements is bonded to the carrier at one of its end surfaces and is free of bonding to adjacent armor elements at its side surface. When the carrier has a planar orientation, at least a majority of the armor elements has their height axes essentially parallel to each other and, when the carrier is at least slightly bent, the height axis of at least one of the elements is inclined relative to the height axis of another of the armor elements adjacent thereto.

摘要: According to the present invention there is provided an armor array for protecting a body to be protected from an incoming projectile having an anticipated impact direction. The armor array is constituted by at least a first and a second armor cassette, each comprising a top base plate and a bottom base plate sandwiching therebetween an expandable layer. The first and second armor cassettes are spaced apart by an intermediate depressible panel having a top and a bottom face, such that the bottom base plate of the first armor cassette faces the top face of the intermediate depressible panel and the top base plate of the second cassette faces the bottom face of the intermediate depressible panel. The armor array is constructed such that upon expansion of the expandable layer, caused by the impact of the incoming projectile, at least one of the bottom base plate of the first armor cassette and the top base plate of the second armor cassette is urged towards the intermediate depressible panel and depresses it.

摘要: An energy absorbing device is provided for reducing acceleration resulting from a force of a high energy impact acting on one side of the device in an impact direction. The device includes two plates transverse to the impact direction, an energy absorbing mechanism between the plates, and a stabilizing mechanism having at least one pair of a projecting element and a receiving element, the projecting element comprised on one plate and a corresponding receiving element comprised on the other plate. Each pair is adapted for enabling the projecting element thereof to be at least partially received by the corresponding the receiving element in a manner to restrict relative displacement between the two plates at least in one direction different from the impact direction and to allow substantially free relative displacement between the plates in the impact direction.

摘要: A coupling between a reinforcing rib component and an underbelly component of a vehicle is provided. The coupling comprises a tooth projecting from a first of the components through a second of the components, an aperture formed in the second s component and receiving therethrough the tooth, and one or more coupling elements attached to the tooth and bearing against the second component. The tooth urges the coupling elements toward the second component, thereby increasing the contact pressure between the components.

摘要: An interchangeable door system (IDS) having a central axis and at least two different opening configurations defined by corresponding different locations of the central axis. The system comprises a wall formed with a wall opening having a circumferential rim and a surface pre-formed with at least a first and a second surface-port. The first and second surface-ports are located along the circumferential rim at locations spaced apart from one another along a direction transverse to the central axis. The system further comprises a door having an outer contour corresponding in shape and dimensions to the opening and being adapted for revolving about the central axis, thereby opening and closing the wall opening. The door is pre-formed with at least a first and a second door-port, the door-ports being located along the outer contour at locations corresponding to the locations of the first and second surface-ports. The system also comprises an interchangeable door arrangement (IDA) adapted to provide selective engagement between each door-port and its corresponding surface-port, forming an engaged port-pair whose location defines the location of the central axis, to thereby bring the central axis into a location of the engaged port-pair, so as to allow the door to operate in the different configurations.
