摘要: A video stream containing encoded frame-based video information includes a first frame and a second frame. The encoding of the second frame depends on the encoding of the first frame. The encoding includes motion vectors indicating differences in positions between regions of the second frame and corresponding regions of the first frame, the motion vectors defining the correspondence between regions of the second frame and regions of the first frame. The first frame is decoded and a re-mapping strategy for video enhancement of the decoded first frame is determined using a region-based analysis. Regions of the decoded first frame are re-mapped according to the determined video enhancement re-mapping strategy for the first frame so as to enhance the first frame. The motion vectors for the second frame are recovered from the video stream and the second frame is decoded.

摘要: An analog signal is sampled to provide a digitized signal and the resultant digitized signal is output to a delay element, which provides a delayed digital signal. The analog signal is also input to an analog noise detector, which provides a noise detector output signal to a digital logic unit. The digital logic unit processes the noise detector output signal to determine if noise is present in the analog signal, and provides a control signal. An amplifier receives the delayed digital signal and reduces a gain applied to the delayed digital signal in response to the control signal, and provides an amplifier output signal.

摘要: In a method for determining weighting factors for the color calculation of a color value of texels for a footprint covering a plurality of texels in a texel grid, in a graphic system, form information of the footprint is determined at first. Afterwards, the edges of the footprint are determined and the edges determined in this way are approximated by a staircase function. The texels of the texel grid contacted by the staircase function are determined and a weighting factor is determined for each texel containing a portion of the staircase function, depending on the subarea of the respective texel covered by the footprint.

摘要: The invention relates to an iterative method for determining an interpolated image information value in an image that comprises a number of image regions arranged in a matrix-like fashion having original image regions to which one image information value has been assigned, and having at least one image region to be interpolated. In order to determine an interpolated image information value, the method specifies a starting interpolation direction and determines a quality measure for the starting interpolation direction. At least one image direction is selected different from the starting interpolation direction and determining a quality measure for this at least one image direction. The quality measures for the starting interpolation direction are compared and the at least one image direction different from the starting interpolation direction, selecting as the interpolation direction the starting interpolation direction or the at least one image direction, and determining the interpolated image information value using image regions that are located in the interpolation direction adjacent to the to-be-interpolated first image region. The steps of selecting and comparing are repeated at least once.

摘要: An LDPC decoder, applicable to LDPC codes including codes where check nodes within the same group are connected to a common bit node, successively processes groups of check nodes in a particular iteration, including updating bit nodes in that same iteration responsive to messages generated in response to processing a group of check nodes. Within an iteration, the LDPC decoder may also track the number of unresolved parity check equations, and cease iterating or output to an outer block decoder if that number reaches a local minima or standard minimum, falls below a predetermined threshold, or its rate of change falls below a predetermined threshold, indicating a lack of convergence or false convergence condition. The LDPC decoder may also provide a feedback assist to a demodulator. Also, a novel memory configuration may store messages generated by the decoder in the course of check node processing. The decoder may also employ a novel method for generating check node to bit node messages through a prescribed series of pair-wise computations.

摘要: A method of reducing mosquito noise in a digital image. As mosquito noise is often most plainly visible in the “background” of an image (e.g., the sky or some other backdrop to objects within an image), the luminance value of the background of the image is first determined. Then, the luminances of the pixels of the image are compared against this “background luminance” to determine which should be considered as part of this background. The luminances of these background pixels are then averaged so as to smooth out the representation of the background, and reduce mosquito noise.
