摘要： A bag adapted to be packed with cement or the like by blowing it into the bag through a foldable blow-in port comprises an outer layer of synthetic resin which is impervious to air and moisture and an inner layer of paper bonded to the outer layer by a layer of bonding agent. The surface of the layer of the bonding agent facing the paper layer is provided with a plurality of longitudinal grooves which act as exhaust passages for discharging the air blown into the bag.

摘要： A method of making flexible and collapsible bulk bags or liners for bulk bags or containers from individual flat panels of material, or tubes of material folded flat, is disclosed. The bags or liners have one or more sidewalls interconnected by at least a bottom wall and preferably also a top wall generally opposed to the bottom wall. The bags are preferably formed by disposing a pair of inner blanks of material with one on top of the other and then heat sealing along a straight line generally bisecting the blanks and thereafter severing the heat seal along its entire length. Next, a pair of outer blanks of material are disposed adjacent the inner blanks with the inner blanks received between the outer blanks. The outer blanks are each heat sealed about their side edges to an adjacent side edge of an inner blank. Once so formed, the inner blanks form a pair of gusseted panels received between the outer and overlying panels. When expanded, this configuration provides four generally rectilinear sidewalls of the bulk bag. To form the bottom wall of the bulk bag, the outer blanks are heat sealed to the adjacent gusseted, inner blanks along canted lines forming a triangular portion integral with each sidewall. When heat sealed in this manner, a generally rectangular bottom wall, integral with the sidewalls, is formed. A top wall may be formed in a similar manner or separately attached to the bag.

摘要： An apparatus and method for forming a sheet of material into an article, such as a flower pot cover, is provided. The apparatus includes a female die and a male die. A sheet of material is positioned between the male die and the female die. The male and female dies are shaped such that at least a portion of the male die is receivable in the opening of the female die to form the article. The apparatus further includes means for supplying a stream of air between the female die and the formed article to release the formed article from the female die and means for holding the formed article against the male die as the male die and the female die are positioned from a forming position to a discharge position whereby the formed article is removed from the female die.

摘要： In an apparatus useful for sealing layers of a web comprised of plastic film layers to one another in a bag-making machine, a sealing drum having a cylindrical surface is employed. A sealing blanket is deployed about plural blanket rolls and about the sealing drum so that a substantial portion of the cylindrical surface of the sealing drum is wrapped by the sealing blanket with the wrapping surface facing the cylindrical surface while the remaining portion of the cylindrical surface is not wrapped thereby at any given time. A nip roll acts together with one of the blanket rolls so as to define a nip. An idle roll is located near the nip. The sealing apparatus is operable so that the sealing blanket is drawn through the nip with the wrapping surface facing the nip roll, so that the web is drawn through the nip, between the nip roll and the wrapping surface of the sealing blanket, then around the idle roll, and then around the sealing drum, between the wrapping surface of the sealing blanket and the cylindrical surface of the sealing drum. The nip roll is pressed pneumatically with an adjustable pressure toward the blanket roll acting together with the nip roll, whereby the nip roll controls the tension on the web being drawn through the nip.

摘要： A mailing container having upper and lower plain paper layers padded with at least two layers of globular paper is made with feed and unwinding devices for upper and lower paper webs and an unwinding device for the padded webs. A device connects the paper webs with padded webs adjacent an edge of the mailing containers. A device cuts the mailing containers to a predetermined format. A station for globular paper includes at least one supply roll to be unwound from the upper paper web and a lower paper web. A reactivatable hot melt adhesive is applied along predetermined zones, on at least one of the globular paper webs and on at least one web of the upper and lower paper webs before the webs are brought together. The hot melt adhesive applied to the predetermined zones between the upper and lower paper web and/or between the globular paper webs causes these webs to be permanently joined.

摘要： An apparatus for manufacturing air-cushion dispatch packages, the apparatus comprising an unwinding mechanism for paper webs and air-cushion foil webs. The apparatus introduces air-cushion foil webs between the paper webs and seals each paper web to a foil web over a large area. Transverse and longitudinal sealers seal the edges of the packages. After each sealing operation, the webs are subsequently cooled. Pulling rollers press the paper webs in the edge regions of the packages and advance the webs. Cutters cut the dispatch packages to the desired format. Web controllers correct deviation of the paper webs. A cycle controller is included.

摘要： In a method and apparatus for manufacturing two-ply agricultural storage bags, two supplies (36, 38) of flexible tubular materials are positioned on opposite sides of feed wheels (26) mounted on a generally cylindrical frame structure (24). The inner material (36a) from the first supply (36) extends through the frame (24) and outwardly around the feed wheels (26). The outer material (38a) from the second supply (38) extends around the feedwheels (26) in surrounding engagement over the inner material (36a). Actuation of the feedwheels (26) effects simultaneous advancement of the materials (36a, 38a) around the frame (24) so that a bag can be collected at the lower end of the frame.

In each severed tube section, the layers are interconnected by a seam at one end to define a sack. The outer layer may be formed with side pleats defining three outwardly directed folds, the inner layer being flattened and disposed in the central such fold before the sack is filled.
