摘要： According to the invention, an apparatus is provided for feeding a continuous plastic film from a source of supply to a plastic film processing machine such as a plastic bag making machine and the like, which includes first and second take up rolls for taking up and rewinding the plastic film. First guide means is disposed at a position in the path for directing the plastic film from the source of supply to the first take up roll via the first guide means. Second guide means is disposed downstream of the first guide means in the path for directing the plastic film from the second take up roll to the processing machine via the second guide means. The plastic films can be sandwiched between and heat cut widthwise by first heat cutting means and first receiving means, whereby the plastic film from the source of supply is connected to the plastic film to the processing machine, while the plastic film to the first take up roll is connected to the plastic film from the second take up roll. The plastic film can be sandwiched between and heat cut widthwise by the second heat cutting means and the second receiving means, whereby the plastic film from the source of supply is connected to the plastic film to the first take up roll, while the plastic film from the second take up roll is connected to the plastic film to the processing machine.

摘要： In apparatus for pouch forming, filling and sealing, a printed web, having registration marks at locations where transverse seals are to be formed in order to form a pouch, is fed through drive rolls; over a plow which forms a longitudinal fold in the web; around a sealing wheel having lands which the web contacts to form transverse pouch-forming seals; around a filler where product is poured into the pouches; past a top sealer and a cutoff where the pouch forming is completed and the individual pouches are severed by knives. A photoelectric scanner scans the registration marks and produces a pulse when each passes the scanner. An electric eye cooperating with a disk driven by the machine determines the position of the sealer lands. A tachometer driven by the machine produces pulses proportional to the speed of the machine. A stepping motor continuously drives the drive rolls. The outputs from the photoelectric scanner, the electric eye and the tachometer are used in association with a microprocessor for controlling the position of the registration marks with respect to the lands so as to form transverse seals on the pouches between the printed matter associated with each pouch.

摘要： The width of a continuously moving flat material, such as a web, or a film sheet, or a flattened tubular plastic film, in manufacture or in process, is continuously monitored by non contacting sensor means which scan the material by oscillating transversely across its moving edges. Departures from a preselected desired width are detected and signals are developed corresponding to the magnitude of a departure, and to whether it constitutes an increase or a decrease from the preselected width. The signals thus developed may be translated into visual or other sensible indicia and may also be applied to make appropriate changes in process control to reattain the set point width of the material being monitored.

摘要： In a method and apparatus for manufacturing two-ply agricultural storage bags, two supplies (36, 38) of flexible tubular materials are positioned on opposite sides of feed wheels (26) mounted on a generally cylindrical frame structure (24). The inner material (36a) from the first supply (36) extends through the frame (24) and outwardly around the feed wheels (26). The outer material (38a) from the second supply (38) extends around the feedwheels (26) in surrounding engagement over the inner material (36a). Actuation of the feedwheels (26) effects simultaneous advancement of the materials (36a, 38a) around the frame (24) so that a bag can be collected at the lower end of the frame.

摘要： A continuous web in the form of a hose-like thermoplastic foil is intermittently fed through a welding and severing station in which two transverse weld seams on the foil are made and simultaneously a cutting blade severs a completed bag along a line between the weld seams. A transfer unit arranged immediately below the welding station temporarily seizes the severed bag, displaces the same a small distance in feeding direction, and then dashes the rear portion with the still plastic weld seam against an alignment line of a stacking station. The stacking station is arranged a small distance below the welding station at the other side of the severed bag, and the still plastic weld seam fuses with the corresponding weld seam of the preceding bag interlocked in the stack. The completed stack is discharged in a perforating station where the tearing line is perforated simultaneously through all stacked bags. If desired, additional holes are punched between the upper edge of the bag and the perforation line.

摘要： Bags are made from an elongated synthetic-resin tube by an apparatus having an endless conveyor having a transport path extending from an upstream cutting/welding station through a stacking station and a flattening station to a downstream punching station. This conveyor has a plurality of platforms having predetermined lengths in the transport direction and spaced apart by gaps. The tube is fed continuously in the transport direction to the upstream cutting/welding station that periodically transversely cuts through the tube and simultaneously forms upstream of each cut a transversely weld for subdividing the tube into a succession of bag blanks. The stacker includes a transversely reciprocal needle bar including at least one heated blocking needle and a transversely reciprocal stripper bar. The upstream end of each bag blank is pierced by the needles as it is cut off the tube, with the downstream portion of each bag blank lying on one of the conveyor platforms. Periodically the stripper bar is moved upwardly to strip an entire stack of bag blanks off the needles. A flattening device engages each of the bag blanks as it is cut free from the tube and presses it down against the stack on the platform. A gripper carriage is displaceable and has a holding element displaceable vertically so that this holding element can press the stack down against the conveyor as the conveyor is stepped to move this stack down to a punching station.

摘要： Successive pouches severed from the leading end of a continuously moving strip of pouches are picked up by a series of spaced paddle assemblies and are turned from edgewise positions to broadwise positions. Each paddle assembly ducks into the pouch to pick up and turn the pouch and opens the pouch just prior to turning it to a broadwise position. Thereafter, the paddle assemblies release the pouches to carriers which advance the pouches through filling and closing stations. The carriers are more closely spaced than the paddle assemblies and are advanced at a slower rate than the paddle assemblies.

摘要： In an apparatus for making plastics carrier bags from a web of tubular film of thermoplastic material, a feeding mechanism intermittently conveys the webs by one bag width and a severing mechanism cuts the web into half tubes along an undulating curve. A carriage displaceable in the machine frame transversely to the feeding direction of the web is reciprocated by a drive derived from a first rotating control cam through gearing. A cutting knife pivotable in the carriage about its longitudinal axis passes through the plane of the tube about an axis perpendicular thereto and is so controlled by an oscillating drive derived from a second rotating control cam that its edge is substantially tangential to the undulating curve at the cutting point. A detour assembly retards one of the half tubes to bring the bag side edge zones into phase and each half tube is formed into bags by a transverse sever-sealing device.
