Provided is a method for producing an electric-wave-transmissible transferring member capable of expressing a metallic luster pattern having a shape outline. A peel layer is formed on a base sheet having peelability and throughout the whole of a surface of the sheet. Next, a water-soluble pattern layer is partially formed thereon. Next, an electric-wave-transmissible metallic luster layer is formed thereon and throughout the whole of the surface thereof. Next, a protective layer is formed thereon and throughout the whole of the surface thereof, or is formed thereon and, partially, in the region where the water-soluble pattern layer is not formed. Next, the workpiece is subjected to a heating treatment and then a water-washing treatment to peel and remove the water-soluble pattern layer, and the electric-wave-transmissible metallic luster layer and the protective layer formed over the layer. Next, an adhesive layer is wholly or partially formed on the workpiece.

The mixture includes 1 to 40 percent by weight of a dispersant and stabilizer for organic materials, soluble in the transfer solvent (z); and at least one of: 3 to 95 percent by weight of a polymer or copolymer printable by a solvent based ink plotter (x), and 1 to 90 percent by weight of an organic raw material which is adhesive if soaked and which is soluble in the transfer solvent (w). The percentages z, x, w selected such that z+x+w≦100 and at least 15% of the components are soluble in the transfer solvent. A product transferable by decalcomania; a manufacturing process for the decalcomania product; and a process for its application are also presented.

The present invention provides a method of displaying an image on a display device having first and second sides, said image including an light restricting silhouette pattern having a plurality of first transparent or translucent areas, and at least one design layer having at least one color, said at least one design layer being visible from one side of said display device and substantially less visible from the other side, said image being substantially transparent or translucent as viewed from the other side, comprising the steps: 1) providing at least a definition of said design layer to a computer; 2) generating a computerized version of said design layer with the computer; 3) outputting the computerized version of said design layer to said display device, the computerized version of said design layer being modified to subdivide said design layer into a plurality of second discrete transparent or translucent areas and other areas, and 4) displaying said modified design layer and said silhouette pattern with said first and second transparent areas being in registry. Articles produced in accordance with the method are also described. Printers, raster image processing methods and systems, computer graphics systems are described for producing the article.

Provided is an image transfer material, comprising a support, optionally at least one barrier layer, a melt transfer layer, and an image receiving layer. Also provided is a process for preparing the image transfer material. Further provided is a heat transfer process using the disclosed material. In the heat transfer process, after imaging, the image receiving layer and melt transfer layer are peeled away from the optionally barrier-coated support material and placed, preferably image side up, on top of a receptor element. A non-stick sheet is then optionally placed over the imaged peeled material and heat is applied to the top of the optional non stick sheet. The melt transfer layer then melts and adheres the image to the receptor element. A composition comprising: at least one self-crosslinking polymer; and at least one dye retention aid.
