摘要: A method for material deposition employs a printing press, such as those used in cold foil transfers, that permits a greater usage of the foil web than traditional methods. This is achieved by increasing the number of times the foil web is passed through the press, while simultaneously taking into account the area that has not been used and adjusting the impacted area of the foil web accordingly. The foil web is adjusted by using a series of adjustable rollers and angular bars to change the length of the circumferential path the foil takes through the press. By modifying the angle of these rollers and the distance between them, the path can be lengthened or shortened to correspond to the particular needs for a particular print job. This allows the press to use the foil in such a way that reduces foil waste and manufacturer and consumer costs.

摘要: This invention provides a decorative sheet having a high glossy impression, comprising a surface protective layer formed of an ionizing radiation curing resin, which is excellent in surface specularity and marker ink erasing capability and has suppressed slipperiness as a decorative sheet, and a decorative plate comprising the sheet and a substrate jointed to each other. In the decorative sheet, a silicone having a high lifting effect (the effect of lifting on the surface) and a silicone having high compatibility with the ionizing radiation curing resin are incorporated, either separately from each other or simultaneously, into an ionizing radiation curing resin for forming the surface protective layer. According to this constitution, properties, which are generally likely to be offset by each other, that is, excellent contamination resistance, marker ink erasing capability, and cellophane tape resistance, high leveling properties, surface smoothness, and transparency, and suppressed slipperiness, can be maintained on a high level.

摘要: A fully automated method and apparatus is disclosed to laminate various structural articles with multiple layers of a resin impregnated fiber tape. The fiber tape is deposited with a tape laying member moving alternately in different travel directions. The tape laying member removes all backing layers from the tape being employed, then deposits the unbacked tape on the surface of the structural article and finally severs the end of the tape being deposited. An automated cut and restart procedure is employed in the present apparatus to increase throughput.

摘要: A method for substantially lifting dry-erasable marked images (4) from a whiteboard surface (2) includes providing a rolled transparent adhesive film sheet (6) for lifting the image, a rolled paper sheet (8) having a shade or color that is contrasting to the image (4) allowing for clearer viewing and easy handling of the lifted image when the sheets (6,8) are adhered together. The sheet rolls (24,26) are positioned, utilizing an elongated handling unit (12,36) that enables dispensing and joining of the sheets (6,8). An urging slit (16) is provided on the unit to urge consistent adherence together of the two sheets (6,8) when pulled through. At least one suction cup (30) is provided on at least one side of the handling unit (12,36) that is provided, in order to mount the unit (10,34) on or near the whiteboard surface (2). Permanent mounting and motorized operation alternatives and a surface cleaning method are provided.

摘要: A polylaminated, waterproof, thermally-sensitive label has a waterproof base that is adhesive on its outer surface and printable on its inner surface; an advertising image printed on the inner surface; a printable covering that overlays the advertising image; a layer of thermochromic ink on the printable covering such that the thermochromic ink is opaque at room temperature but is translucent at increased temperature; and a waterproof layer designed to overlay and protect the thermochromic ink. The labels are designed to fit within the confines of a urinal and to act as a target for the user. The labels are easily applied and removed and are intended for use in moist or wet environments. Also disclosed is a method of advertising. The method includes providing a label comprising a plastic layer that is adhesive on one surface and printable on its second surface; an advertising image or slogan printed on the second surface, a printable covering that overlays the advertising image, a layer of thermochromic ink such that the thermochromic ink is opaque at room temperature but is translucent at increased temperature, and a waterproof layer designed to overlay the thermochromic ink; placing the label on exercise equipment or on food boxes, where its display can change with the desired temperature; and replacing the label periodically to coincide with new promotional messages.
