摘要: A method of manufacturing a pleated product capable of partially pleating a fabric so that boundaries between pleat portions and non-pleat portions can be conspicuous and a fabric for the pleated product used for the method. In this method, a part of the fabric for the pleated product in which one of warp and weft is formed of easy-to-pleat yarn and the other formed of hard-to-pleat yarn is folded along a folding line tilted relative to the warp and the weft, the fabric is pleated up to the folding line in the passing direction of the warp or the weft, and the fabric is unfolded and washed. Effective pleats are formed only in the passing direction of the easy-to-pleat yarn on a plane on one side of the folded portion and not formed in the passing direction of the hard-to-pleat yarn on a plane on the other side of the folded portion. The pleats in the passing direction of the hard-to-pleat yarn are eliminated by a washing step to form a non-pleat portion, and the pleats formed on the passing direction of the easy-to-pleat yarn form a pleat portion in which the pleat lines are firmly shaped up to the folding line.

摘要: In the proces of defining quilted fabric, non-stretchable, stretchable and interior layers of materials are wound on separate rollers. Then the layers are positively fed from the rollers to a bi-directional acting sewing assembly wherein the non-stretchable layer is provided with zero elongation and the stretchable layer is provided with 25 to 300 percent stretch. Next, the arranged layers are sewn in sets of sinusoidal-like seam patterns. Finally the stretched layer is permitted to relax to a natural state wherein a series of puffs are formed in rows across the layer normal to stretch direction of the stretchable layer. Result: columns of puffs of even numbered rows are aligned with each other but are laterally offset with respect to puffs of odd numbered rows by a constant amount.

摘要: A cover for covering a flower pot is provided. The cover includes a planar base, a sidewall extending from an outer periphery of the base, and a securing member for securing the sidewall to the flower pot. The sidewall is movable relative to the base between a substantially flattened position wherein the sidewall is in a substantially coplanar relation with respect to the base and an upright position wherein the sidewall and the base cooperate to define a pot receiving space. The sidewall has a plurality of folds formed therein so as to cause the sidewall to take a predetermined shape upon moving the sidewall from the flattened position to the upright position.

摘要: A template used for making decorative window treatments such as swags, valances, jabots, and window treatment accessories, the template comprises a sheet of material, the sheet of material having first and second spaced curved rows of perforations, the first curved row of perforations being positioned above the second curved row of perforations with the second curved row of perforations being longer in length than the first curved row of perforations, the first and second curved rows of perforations being spaced apart and being curved in a downwardly direction, a pair of straight connecting rows of perforations having equal lengths are positioned on the sheet of material to intersect opposite ends of the spaced curved rows of perforations, each of the straight connecting rows of perforations comprising a plurality of equally spaced slots, the pair of straight connecting rows of perforations extending in a direction away from each other and down from the first curved row of perforations to the second curved row of perforations, therefore allowing a user to place the template onto a sheet of material and mark desired points onto the sheet of material to allow the user to create at least one swag or a jabot with the sheet of material.

摘要: Apparatus for use in fabricating pleated materials, particularly for forming pleats in drapery materials such as swags and cascades. The apparatus greatly facilitates and eliminates some certain hand operations. A plurality of parallel upstanding spaced members is provided. The members are connected by adjustable lazy tongs means so that the members are adjustable to a desired uniform spacing. The members may be either straight or they may be of curved configuration for making swags. The material is placed over the members and then uniform pleats are formed over the members with the pleats then being held to the members by holding devices. The members are constructed so that they can be manipulated or actuated to hold all the pleats which are then secured by stapling prior to the removal of the completed material and final fabrication.
