    Abstract: An internal combustion engine having an intake channel that opens into a crankcase. A first fuel channel opens into the intake channel to supply fuel thereto as a function of underpressure in the intake channel. An auxiliary channel opens into a transfer channel that fluidically connects a crankcase to the combustion chamber. A second fuel channel opens into the auxiliary channel and is connected to a storage reservoir for fuel. At least one valve controls the quantity of fuel to be supplied to the engine via the auxiliary channel. Largely fuel-free air is supplied to the engine via the intake channel during idling. During a first revolution of the crankshaft, fuel is supplied via the auxiliary channel, so that a combustible mixture can form in the combustion chamber. During a second revolution, largely fuel-free air is supplied via the auxiliary channel and the combustion chamber is scavenged with largely fuel-free air.

    Abstract: A fuel control device is adapted to be used in the place of the conventional pilot jet of the carburetor of an internal combustion engine. This device comprises a chamber defining first and second valve seats, as well as a double-acting movable valve member cooperating alternatively with said valve seats. The chamber is connected by the first valve seat to a fuel inlet, and by the second valve seat to an air inlet, and its wall has openings by means of which said chamber may be interposed in a low-pressure conduit connected to the carburetor. Means are provided for maintaining the valve head in an intermediate position, i.e. out of engagement with said first and second valve seats, when the engine runs at idling speed, and for moving the valve head into engagement with the first valve seat when the engine runs at an increased speed, while moving the valve head into engagement with the second valve seat when the engine runs at a very low speed, whereby the fuel flow controlled by the device is interrupted each time the engine runs at a speed different from the idling speed.

    Abstract: A fuel-air vaporizing apparatus including fuel metering means discharging a regulated fuel flow into a heated airflow within a conduit for subsequent and remote discharge into the air induction system of an engine. A nozzle structure, subjected to vacuum pressure, discharges fuel below an induction regulating valve. Fuel and air linkage, jointly operated by the driver's throttle, actuate said fuel metering means and the air induction regulating valve in a synchronized manner to provide an optimum, completely vaporized fuel-air mixture to the engine. An idle assembly controls engine operation during both idling and other closed throttle conditions. Said idle assembly functions to cut off fuel flow during vehicle deceleration with fuel flow resuming upon certain engine conditions being reached. Temperature responsive means are associated with both the idle assembly and the fuel-air linkage to assure optimum fuel-air ratios throughout a range of engine temperatures.

    Abstract: A vacuum-controlled valve is adapted to cut off the admission of fuel to a carburetor idling jet when the motor vehicle is decelerated and vacuum in the intake manifold is high. The engine thus acts as a brake, and when deceleration takes place to a predetermined extent, the drop in vacuum, that is, increase in pressure in the intake manifold, opens the valve to admit fuel to the carburetor to prevent the motor from stalling.
