摘要:
A pump arrangement, in particular a magnetic clutch pump arrangement, is provided. The pump arrangement includes a pump housing containing an impeller shaft, a containment shell which seals an enclosed chamber within the inner chamber of the pump housing, an impeller mounted on one end of the impeller shaft, an inner rotor mounted on the other end of the impeller shaft, a drive motor, a drive shaft that can be driven by the drive motor, and an outer rotor which is mounted on the drive shaft and co-operates with the inner rotor. The external rotor has a hub with a through-bore having a hub interior surface. The hub interior surface includes an axial groove extending parallel to the axis of rotation which cooperates with a feather key and a key groove of the drive shaft to rotationally secure the hub to the drive shaft. At least one radially circumferential first groove and at least one radially circumferential second groove in the hub interior surface receive tolerance rings.

A transfer pump used in a waste tank for transferring high-level radioactive liquid waste from a waste tank and having a column assembly, a canned electric motor means, and an impeller assembly with an upper impeller and a lower impeller connected to a shaft of a rotor assembly. The column assembly locates a motor housing with the electric motor means adjacent to the impeller assembly which creates an hydraulic head, and which forces the liquid waste, into the motor housing to cool the electric motor means and to cool and/or lubricate the radial and thrust bearing assemblies. Hard-on-hard bearing surfaces of the bearing assemblies and a ring assembly between the upper impeller and electric motor means grind large particles in the liquid waste flow. Slots in the static bearing member of the radial bearing assemblies further grind down the solid waste particles so that only particles smaller than the clearances in the system can pass therethrough, thereby resisting damage to and the interruption of the operation of the transfer pump. The column assembly is modular so that sections can be easily assembled, disassembled and/or removed. A second embodiment employs a stator jacket which provides an alternate means for cooling the electric motor means and lubricating and/or cooling the bearing assemblies, and a third embodiment employs a variable level suction device which allows liquid waste to be drawn into the transfer pump from varying and discrete levels in the waste tank.

A canned motor has a housing and a motor shaft which extends through the housing. A rotor is fixed to the shaft and is located in a rotor compartment within the housing. The rotor compartment has a flow path for circulation of a cooling and lubricating fluid through the compartment. A sleeve surrounds the shaft upstream of the flow path and is surrounded by a second sleeve. The two sleeves cooperate to define a gap which serves as a filter for fluid entering the rotor compartment. The minimum height of the gap is smaller than the minimum height of the flow path to prevent suspended solid particles which can obstruct the flow path from entering the latter. The sleeves are composed of a hard material so that oversized particles can be ground down by causing the fluid to repeatedly bring the particles into contact with the sleeves.

A canned motor pump has a stator sealed from a rotor, the rotor driving a shaft that carries an impeller. The shaft rotates in front and rear bearings while the thrust of the impeller is balanced by fluid passing through an orifice plate behind the impeller. A front bearing housing is separate from but interconnected with the orifice plate by an adapter. The stator may be externally heat exchange jacketed, while a guide disc may be carried by the front bearing housing to direct fluid radially inwardly toward the intake of an auxiliary impeller.

A motor and pump unit has a motor rotor and a pump rotor connected by a shaft whose end portions pass through openings in the end walls of a casing. OUtside of the end walls, the shaft has flanges forming axial gaps with the end walls so that pressure fluid flowing through the gaps counterbalances the motor rotor.
