    摘要: A lighting assembly for use in a cigaret lighter shell is disclosed. The lighting assembly comprises an insulative case for housing a power supply, such as batteries, and conductors for establishing an electrical circuit that includes the batteries, the conductors, a light bulb, and the cigaret lighter shell. A reflector and lens may be provided to focus and direct the beam generated by the bulb. A resilient portion of one of the conductors is biased against a wall of the cigaret lighter shell to close the electrical circuit. An insulative tip is provided on an end of the conductor and may be manually manipulated to remove the conductor from contact with the shell wall to open the electrical circuit and place the flashlight in an unlocked off position. A groove may be provided in the case to receive the tip and maintain an open circuit to place the flashlight in a locked off position. When a lid of the cigaret lighter is closed, the lid engages the tip to remove the conductor from contact with the shell wall and turn the flashlight off.

    摘要: A miniature flashlight comprising a barrel, tail cap, head, bulb holder, bulb and an electrical circuit. The bulb holder is positioned at one end of the barrel such that the bulb extends into the head. The head includes a parabolic reflector surrounding the bulb such that the rotation of the head relative to the barrel changes the focus of the flashlight beam. A rotary switch associates the bulb holder with the barrel to control opening and closing of the electrical circuit. Rotation of the head away from the barrel closes the electrical circuit. The head is not a part of the electrical circuit and its removal exposes the bulb for substantially spherical illumination. The head assembly is removable from the barrel for use as a base into which the tail cap and barrel is inserted to stand the miniature flashlight in its "on" condition, as a lamp.

    摘要: A twist switch is shown for a flashlight of the type having a conductive tubular body having an interior, opposing ends and an internal shelf formed at one of the opposing ends. The internal shelf has a bulb receiving opening and a reflector is mounted on the internal shelf. A bulb is inserted into the tubular body having a shoulder contact which rests on the internal shelf and a base contact which passes through a bulb receiving opening in the internal shelf. A dry cell battery is stationarily positioned within the interior of the tubular body and has a center terminal in electrical contact with the bulb base contact. An end cap is rotatably engaged on the end of the tubular body opposite the reflector. A conductor element located within the interior of the end cap is initially separated from the tubular body by an insulating member. Turning the end cap moves the end cap in the direction of the reflector end of the flashlight and causes the conductor element to contact the tubular body to complete and electrical circuit through the bulb, tubular body and battery.

    摘要: A flashlight has a casing containing batteries and a head assembly mounted on the casing. The head assembly includes a swivel head arranged for rotational movement about a swivel axis which is disposed at an acute angle with respect to a longitudinal axis of the casing. The swivel head carries a bulb and is asymmetrical so that rotational movement of the swivel head causes the beam of light emitted by the bulb to be directed in different directions. In one embodiment of the flashlight, the bulb is moved to various angular positions relative to the casing as the swivel head is rotated. In another embodiment of the flashlight, the bulb remains in a fixed relationship with the casing but a reflector is moved to various angular positions when the swivel head is rotated. The flashlight also includes a push button type of switch mechanism for illuminating and extinguishing the bulb.

    摘要: A miniature flashlight comprising a barrel, a tail cap, a head assembly, and a miniature bulb holder and providing interruptible contact to batteries within the barrel. The bulb holder comprises an insulated receptacle disposed external to the barrel end which the head assembly engages, a second insulated receptacle within the barrel engaging the first insulated receptacle enabling the first and second insulated receptacles to translate axially and limited by a flange on the first insulated receptacle and an annular lip formed inwardly at the barrel end, and a pair of conductors mounted in the second insulated receptacle such that one of the conductors couples the center electrode of a battery with the first bulb pin and the other conductor member couples the second bulb pin to the barrel lip. A spring fits between the tail cap and the batteries. The electrical circuit is closed by the barrel, the tail cap, and the spring to couple the second lamp pin to the battery case terminal. By threading the head assembly onto the barrel causing head assembly translation towards the tail cap, the reflector moves with respect to the bulb varying dispersion of the reflected lamp beam. Further rotation of the head assembly causes the reflector to contact the first insulated receptacle, translating the first insulated receptacle, the second insulated receptacle, and the batteries against the spring, until the first insulated receptacle flange abuts the barrel end, whereat the side conductor no longer contacts the barrel lip opening the circuit. The head assembly may be removed from the barrel and utilized as a base into which the tail cap and barrel may be inserted to stand the miniature flashlight, in its "on" condition, for use as a miniature table lamp.
