    摘要: A method of extending the useful life of one or more conventional DC batteries in a battery-powered device. The method involves use of at least one dry cell DC battery, at least one metal blank, and a battery-powered apparatus having a battery compartment and an extension housing. At least one dry cell DC battery is placed inside the battery compartment of the battery-powered apparatus. At least one metal blank is then placed in the extension housing for completing an electrical circuit between first and second contacts of the battery-powered device. Using a voltmeter, the voltage of one of the dry cell DC batteries is tested. If the voltage of the dry cell DC battery is below a threshold voltage level required for the battery-powered apparatus, at least one metal blank is then replaced with a partially-charged battery.

    摘要: A slide focus flashlight has a container with an aperture therein, a lamp disposed within the container, a reflector disposed within the container, and an actuator disposed in the opening of the container for sliding therein and having a first angled surface. A conductive shaft is disposed within the container, and a slide interface is coupled to the conductive shaft. The slide interface has a second angled surface for sliding against the first angled surface of the actuator. A power switch is provided for selectively energizing the lamp. The slide interface, actuator and power switch allow for single-handed focusing and energizing of the flashlight.

If there are two electric transducers, they may be a part of a light source comprising a reflector, a first electric lamp having a filament at its focal point, and a second electric lamp extending into that reflector beside the first electric lamp.

    摘要: A lighting assembly for use in a cigaret lighter shell. The lighting assembly comprises an insulative case for housing a power supply, such as batteries, and conductors for establishing an electrical circuit that includes the batteries, the conductors, and a light bulb and that does not rely on conductivity of the shell. An adjustable reflector and lens may be provided to focus and direct the beam generated by the bulb. One conductor is moved into contact with another of the conductors in response to opening of the lid of the shell to close the electrical circuit to turn the flashlight on. One of the conductors is moved out of contact with another in response to closing of the lid to turn the flashlight off. One of the conductors is positioned for preventing its contact with another conductor when the lighting assembly is removed from the shell so that it is turned off. One conductor may be manually positioned or locked in position so that it is not in contact with another conductor so that the flashlight is turned off while the lid is open.
