摘要： The present invention provides a releasable clamp assembly for supporting one or more bullet deflecting plates, comprising: a first plate holder having a channel for receiving an outer lateral edge of a first deflecting plate; a second plate holder having a channel for receiving an outer lateral edge of a second deflecting plate; and a bridge comprising a bridge connecting the first plate holder and the second plate holder and one or more releasable clamp integral with the bridge, wherein the one or more releasable clamp is adapted to apply a clamping force in a direction substantially perpendicular to the first plate holder channel and second plate holder channel. The releasable clamp assembly, when disposed over the outer lateral edges of the first and second deflecting plate, positions the releasable clamp over the first and second deflecting plate to apply a clamping force to the one or more deflecting plate, thereby holding the releasable clamp assembly in secure engagement with the first and second deflecting plate.

摘要： A shooting range including at least one shooting station and a projectile trap. The projectile trap includes at least two projectile trap subassemblies each having at least one end plate and joined together along adjacent end plates and a trap chamber in each of the projectile trap subassemblies, wherein a portion of the front edge of the joint between the projectile trap subassemblies is transposed into the trap chambers substantially out of view from the shooting station. 摘要： A device for limiting, controlling, and disposing of lead particles released from a firearm's openings and leakage areas rear of the muzzle. The device is composed of a cylindrical clear polycarbonate enclosure mounted on an aluminum frame which encloses the firearm and the shooters hands. A small opening at the rear of the cylinder allows the firearm muzzle to discharge the projectile. A restricted opening at the front of the cylinder allows the shooter to place hands and firearm within the enclosure. The clear Polycarbonate provides light entry and visibility while affording the shooter some protection against a malfunctioning firearm. The enclosure is under negative air pressure in relation to the environment outside the enclosure. The negative air pressure is provided by either the bullet retention system that the device is mounted to or separately by a connection to a commercially available High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filter vacuum.

摘要： A method providing a self-dispensing additive for buffering a projectile trapping medium and passivating spent projectiles trapped therein. The additive is a buffering compound formed as blocks of low-density foamed-concrete that self-dispenses the additive when contacted by the fired projectiles. The blocks contain dry components that may include one or more of low-solubility phosphate compounds, low-solubility aluminum compounds, iron compounds, sulfate compounds, and calcium carbonate mixed with a cementing material, water, and an aqueous-based foam in substantially stoichiometric amounts. The aqueous-based foam is added in a quantity sufficient to adjust the density of the block to neutral buoyancy in the projectile-trapping medium. The additive chemically stabilizes the medium while also passivating projectiles, in particular heavy-metal projectiles, trapped in the medium.

摘要： An additive for buffering a projectile trapping medium and spent projectiles trapped therein is a buffering compound formed as a low density foamed concrete block that will self-dispense via fragmentation or pulverization when subjected to incoming fire. The block combines at least one dry component selected from the group consisting of low solubility phosphate compounds, low solubility aluminum compounds, iron compounds, sulfate compounds, and calcium carbonate with a cementing material, water, and an aqueous based foam in substantially stoichiometric amounts. The aqueous based foam is added in a quantity sufficient to adjust the density of the resulting block to be non-buoyant without sinking in the projectile trapping medium. The additive may be employed in a projectile trapping medium to chemically stabilize the medium and environmentally stabilize projectiles trapped therein.

The target carrier includes a two-prong target hook wherein the shaft and prong arms are formed detachable segments to facilitate replacement of a segment damaged by a bullet. The bullet trap includes a sand backstop having a reflected angle support structure to support a mound of sand.
