Abstract:
A diagnostic table which stores possible causes of certain abnormal conditions is accessed by corresponding push buttons for sequential vocalization by a sewing machine system, thereby helping the operator check the machine.
Abstract:
Voice interfaces in process control systems are disclosed herein. One disclosed example method includes authenticating an RFID device, and, based on authenticating the RFID device, receiving voice instructions, where the voice instructions include settings data for a process control device of a process control system. The example method also includes determining, using a processor, the settings data based on the voice instructions, and storing the settings data.
Abstract:
A cooktop appliance and a method for operating a cooktop appliance are provided. The cooktop appliance and the method include features for modifying the heating level of at least one heating element of the cooktop appliance and for indicating to a user of the cooktop appliance that the heating level has been modified.
Abstract:
This relates to systems and processes for using a virtual assistant to control electronic devices. In one example process, a user can speak an input in natural language form to a user device to control one or more electronic devices. The user device can transmit the user speech to a server to be converted into a textual representation. The server can identify the one or more electronic devices and appropriate commands to be performed by the one or more electronic devices based on the textual representation. The identified one or more devices and commands to be performed can be transmitted back to the user device, which can forward the commands to the appropriate one or more electronic devices for execution. In response to receiving the commands, the one or more electronic devices can perform the commands and transmit their current states to the user device.
Abstract:
A method instructs a user how to operate of an appliance. The method issues information via at least one output device for instructing the user with regard to the operation of the appliance. The method also identifies a control element of the device, which is to be taken into account by the user during the instruction of the latter by use of at least one marker element. A device is provided for carrying out the method.
Abstract:
Disclosed are system and method of remotely controlling the home appliance by employing the voice/character recognition technique. The appliance detects a connection relationship between the appliance and the mobile terminal and dynamically transmits the control code and a module for transmission. If the appliance control command is inputted through the voice control command input screen or the handwriting control command input screen, after the inputted command is interpreted through the voice/character recognition technique and is transformed to the control code of the appliance to be sent to the home appliance, the control code is sent to the home appliance to remotely control it. The function thereof may be extended to the environment capable of implementing the bi-directional communication with the appliance by receiving the control code from the appliance, while overcoming the limitation of the conventional terminal having a fixed function. In addition, since it is easy to add or delete the control function, a plurality of appliances can be effectively controlled by use of one terminal.
Abstract:
A remotely programmable infusion system. The remotely programmable infusion system comprises a memory for storing a programmable protocol and a remote communication port for sending a voice signal to a remote touch-tone transceiver and for receiving a remote programming signal from the remote touch-tone transceiver. The remotely programmable infusion system also comprises a voice storage unit for storing the voice signal. The remotely programmable infusion system further comprises a processor, coupled to the remote communication port, to the voice storage unit, and to the memory, for accessing the voice signal from the voice storage unit and the programmable protocol from the memory, and for processing the programmable protocol in response to receiving the remote programming signal.

Abstract:
Apparatus and method for speech recognition control of apparel manufacture equipment, such as a sewing machine, is provided. The invention includes a device for recognizing and translating an operator's verbal command into a digital control signal; a communication device such as a microphone for inputting the operator's verbal command into the recognizing and translating device; and interfacing means for presenting the digital control signal to the apparel manufacture equipment in a form recognized and accepted by the equipment. The method for voice control of apparel manufacture equipment according to the present invention comprises the steps of receiving an operator's verbal command; recognizing and translating the verbal command into a digital control signal; and routing this digital control signal to the apparel manufacture equipment in a form recognized by an actable upon by the equipment. An infrared light linkage may be employed to transmit commands from an operator to the machine's control circuitry.
Abstract:
The control apparatus is suitable for use on airplanes. It has a digital computer, order-issuing devices for issuing settings in the form of digital messages including data plus a label number identifying the message in a standardized format. Actuators implement the settings under the control of the computer. The apparatus also has decoders which decode the digital messages issued by the order-issuing devices, typically in ARINC form, and a voice synthetizer provides a voice announcement specifying in the clear the setting as actually issued.
