摘要: In a method for marking a product first a product identification (12) is generated (S1) and applied (S5) onto the product (21). Subsequently the product identification (26) applied onto the product (21) is captured (S6) and stored (S8, S9) in a product database (11). Here in particular also an independent authentication feature (22) is designated (S3, S5) and applied (S6) together with the product identification (26) onto the product (21) and stored (S8, S9) in the product database (11).

摘要: Techniques are provided for generating machine-readable optical codes that have an aesthetic component that is integrated into the codes themselves. In this manner, the machine-readable optical codes can be designed to be aesthetically pleasing and/or can convey information to human viewers, and can even be disguised so that they do not appear to be machine-readable optical codes at all. Such information can be (but need not be) distinct from the information encoded for reading by a machine, even when the information is integrated into the code itself. The techniques described herein can be applied to any type of machine-readable optical code.

摘要: A method for encoding the color of an object in multispectral form by adaptive compression, includes the following steps: determining an identifier of the color in the form of a logistics-dedicated code and having a European Article Numbering, Universal Product Code, or Domain Name System distributed management structure; inserting a marker at the beginning of the code indicating that it is a color code, and the type of storage; and creating a color encoding that can be interpreted by both a human being and a computer by being directly read, in the form of three elements, a sample of the color or texture, a name, and a barcode/chip, using the code and the marker, which provides access to the bidirectional spectral reflectance of the color stored either locally and/or on a network, and having a rendering model that is predetermined by the marker. The associated decoding method is also described.

摘要: A method and program for encoding and decoding color barcodes to increase their data capacity. The encoding steps include determining a shape and a color for each data cell to encode digital data, wherein a combination of the shape and the color for the data cell is chosen from a plurality of combinations of shapes and colors in accordance with a value of the digital data to be encoded, and coloring a subset of the plurality of pixels in each data cell in accordance with the shape and the color for the data cell determined above. The decoding steps include segmenting the data cells in a color barcode, recognizing a shape formed by a subset of pixels in each data cell and the color of the shape, and obtaining digital data from a combination of the recognized shape and color in each data cell.
