    摘要: A tone setting device includes an operating section for selecting segments in combination from among various segments of exciting mechanisms and structures employed in plural types of musical instruments, and a data supply section supplies tone setting data, corresponding to the combination of the selected segments, as data for setting a characteristic of a tone. By thus combining segments of desired musical instruments, a free tone selection can be conducted easily in such a form where the selected tone color can be readily recognized by a human operator. Also, a plurality of parameters are allocated to a single operator so that the parameters can be simultaneously adjusted by respective unique amounts of change based on operation of the same operator.

    摘要: When playing a wind instrument such as a clarinet, noises are inevitably or intentionally generated under effect of a turbulent flow contained in an air-pressure wave propagated through a resonance tube of the wind instrument. In response to an accurate simulation of a noise behavior, particularly, a behavior of the turbulent flow contained in the air-pressure wave, a musical tone synthesizing apparatus artificially produces a noise signal by use of a white-noise signal having the predetermined uniform spectral distribution. Herein, frequency characteristic and amplitude characteristic of this noise signal are controlled to be varied in response to an excitation signal which is created responsive to performance information representing the breath pressure applied to a mouthpiece of the wind instrument. This excitation signal is delayed by the predetermined delay time while it is circulating through a loop circuit. In addition, the signal circulating through the loop circuit is convoluted with the noise signal so as to produce a musical tone signal. Then, the musical tones with desirable noises are produced on the basis of this musical tone signal. Thus, the musical tone synthesizing apparatus well simulates the sound-and-noise-generating mechanism of the wind instrument.

    摘要: In order to simplify the input operations for the simulation of the non-electronic musical instrument such as the wind instrument, input values are visually displayed on a display screen of a display unit. Herein, by operating an input device such as a keyboard, a mouse, a light pen and the like, a tube shape, position and size of a tone hole of the wind instrument is visually drawn on the display screen in accordance with the predetermined plotting programs. In order to simplify calculations required for the computer simulation, the tube shape of the wind instrument, such as a conical shape, is divided into plural portions, each of which is simulated by another simple shape, such as a cylindrical shape. Then, parameters defining the simulated shape of each portion of the tube shape are generated in accordance with the predetermined algorithm, and these parameters are memorized in a memory. When performing a music by use of a wind-instrument-type performance input device, the corresponding parameters are automatically read from the memory so that simulated sounds of the wind instrument can be generated from the electronic musical instrument.
