The instrument comprises an electronic controller that has operating characteristics that resemble a flute and computer software executable on a computer for converting signals from the controller into data suitable for generating complex sound from conventional speakers. Thus, the instrument provides the complexity and nuance of control of an acoustic instrument while being capable of generating sounds that an acoustic instrument cannot make.

    摘要: A musical tone synthesizing apparatus comprises a digital signal processor (i.e., DSP), a main memory and a sub memory. The main memory stores main instructions, while the sub memory stores sub instructions. In accordance with the main instructions and the sub instructions, the DSP performs several kinds of arithmetical operations in a time-division manner. Herein, the main instructions embody algorithms representing a sound source which contains a non-linear table. The contents of the non-linear table represents a non-linear characteristic of a musical instrument to be simulated. Values to be stored in the non-linear table are calculated in accordance with a predetermined mathematical computation utilizing a series expansion, a recurrence formula and the like. By rewriting the contents of the non-linear table, a non-linear characteristic to be applied to musical tone signals is altered in real time. Incidentally, the sub instructions are used to perform several kinds of operations such as an operation of rewriting the contents of the non-linear table and/or a low-pass filtering operation.

    摘要: A musical tone synthesizing apparatus conducts musical tone synthesis based on the tone generation mechanism of an acoustic musical instrument, and generates quickly and accurately desired musical tones in response to the operation of the beginning of tone generation. The musical tone synthesizing apparatus includes a performance data generation mechanism which generates performance data in accordance with performance operations, an excitation circuit, which generates an excitation signal in correspondence with the performance data, and a signal loop circuit which delays the excitation signal by a fixed period and repeatedly cycles the excitation signal. The performance data generation mechanism, furthermore, supplies an initial excitation control signal, which is for the purpose of exciting the signal loop circuit, to the excitation circuit during the initial generation of a musical tone. Thereby, resonant operation is quickly conducted in accordance with the initial excitation control signal, so that desired musical tones can be swiftly and accurately generated.

    摘要: The musical tone synthesizing apparatus simulating the wind instrument synthesizes a musical tone signal to thereby generate a musical tone corresponding to the wind instrument tone. Herein, the musical tone synthesizing apparatus contains one or more stages each including a bi-directional transmission circuit and a junction. In each stage, the progressive wave signal is delayed by the predetermined delay time and transmitted to the junction. The junction multiplies the signal by first coefficient, whereby the result of multiplication is transmitted to the next stage. The junction also multiplies the progressive wave signal by second coefficient, whereby the result of multiplication is fed back to the prior stage. The first and second coefficients are changed over according to an operation of a tone hole to be provided in the wind instrument. Thus, the musical tone of the wind instrument can be simulated with simple circuit or software.
