    摘要: A proximity switch assembly (10) for signaling the location of a movable member (36) at either of opposite end limits of movement relative to a stationary frame (44, 46) includes a compact elongate housing (58) adapted to be mounted on the frame to extend along the path of movement of a power driven member (32), such as the piston rod of a hydraulic cylinder, which shifts the movable member between its end limits. The proximity switch is fixedly mounted in the housing and carries a switch actuating member (68) mounted for sliding movement over a relatively short distance sufficient to move an actuating target (74) into and out of actuating proximity of an air core proximity sensing coil (120) within the housing. Lost motion abutment shoulders (70, 72) on the switch actuation member and power driven member (54) move into engagement with each other as a power driven member approaches each end of its stroke.

    摘要: A contactless inductive proximity switch contains an oscillator which is formed of a parallel arrangement of an oscillator coil and an oscillator capacitor connected to an integrated circuit. The oscillator coil is provided with a relatively few number of wire turns so as to occupy a relatively small portion of the volume in the cup core. The capacity of the oscillator capacitor is selected to match the oscillator coil. A hard water is retained within the cup core by a casting resin, and protects the oscillator coil from damage.

    摘要: An eddy current sensing device wherein lines of flux are passed in one direction through a stainless steel membrane. The membrane is specially heat treated such that it collimates and permits passage of generated lines of flux yet provides an effective environmental shield that will allow operation even when the device is subjected to temperatures of up to 1,400* F. and pressures of up to 3,000 p.s.i. An impedance comparator circuit, including measuring and reference coils having virtually identical characteristics, is used to operate a meter to thereby indicate proximity and/or characteristics of conductive materials sensed. The magnetic flux of the measuring coil is shielded and collimated to provide localized sensing and reflected impedance variations between the two coils, which comprise legs of a bridge circuit, are detected and translated to distance, presence or other characteristic measurements, as represented by the output signal of the sensing device.
