Abstract: A microphone includes a diaphragm assembly supported by a substrate. The diaphragm assembly includes at least one carrier, a diaphragm, and at least one spring coupling the diaphragm to the at least one carrier such that the diaphragm is spaced from the at least one carrier. An insulator (or separate insulators) between the substrate and the at least one carrier electrically isolates the diaphragm and the substrate.

Abstract: Acoustic device including a member extending transversely of its thickness and capable of sustaining bending waves at least over an intendedly consequentially acoustically active area of the transverse extent of said member, the member having, by reason of orderly design methodology disclosed and claimed, a distribution of resonant modes of its natural bending wave vibration at least over said area that is dependent on values of particular parameters of said members, including geometrical configuration and directional bending stiffness(es), which values have been selected to predetermine said distribution of natural resonant modes being consonant with required achievable acoustic action of said member for operation of said device over a desired operative acoustic frequency range.

Abstract: The invention relates to a micro-speaker with a second suspension made of highly resilient material installed inside of the speaker. The speaker is able to provide high level acoustic output with low distortion rate in a wide frequency range with a very small and slim structure and it may prevent a disconnection of a lead connecting the voice coil and the electrode. The speaker includes a yoke, a permanent magnet, a plate, a vibration plate integrated with a first suspension, a voice coil, a frame and a protector. The speaker further comprises a second suspension made of highly resilient material installed between the plate and the vibration plate, and is characterized in that the voice coil is attached to the lower surface of the second suspension and the vibration plate is attached to the upper surface of the second suspension and the vibration plate is attached to the upper surface of the second suspension and the outer periphery of the second suspension is fixed to the frame.

Abstract: An acoustic passive radiator that controls “rocking mode” vibration. An acoustic passive radiator includes a diaphragm for radiating acoustic energy. The diaphragm has a perimeter portion and a central portion. The perimeter portion is thicker than the central portion. The passive radiator further includes a passive radiator suspension. The suspension includes a skin element encasing the diaphragm. The skin element comprises a surround for physically coupling the passive radiator to an acoustic enclosure, pneumatically sealing the diaphragm and the enclosure. The surround has a non-uniform width. The passive radiator a non-pneumatically sealing, non-surround, non-spider suspension element. The non-surround suspension element and the surround coact to control the motion of the diaphragm and to support the weight of the diaphragm.

Abstract: A speaker having a support structure having a bracket, and a vibration structure having a bend ring. The bend ring comprises an arc portion and an outer brim connected to the bracket. The outer brim of the bend ring extends downwardly to abut and connect to an outer brim of the top of the bracket, and the outer brim of the bend ring does not exceed the outermost end of the arc portion in the radial direction.
