    摘要: The present invention mainly aims to provide cutting method and cutting apparatus for manufacturing a guide rail of a rolling guide device by efficiently cut-working a long scale hardened steel. In order to achieve such object, there is provided a cutting method of linearly cutting a work surface (3) of the long scale hardened steel (2) along the longitudinal direction thereof. In this process, it is desired to arrange a plurality of CBN tools (7) along the longitudinal direction of the long scale hardened steel (2) to thereby sequentially cut the work surface (3). Furthermore, a cutting apparatus of the present invention comprises a fixing device (4) for fixing the long scale hardened steel (2), a tool rest (5) which is guided by a guide device (6) disposed along the longitudinal direction of the fixing device (4) and the CBN tool (7) cut-working the work surface (3) of the long scale hardened steel (2) held by the tool rest (5).

    摘要: Rail heads are planed with a mobile machine moving continuously along a track and comprising a frame and a rail planing tool mounting linked to the frame. The mounting is adjusted vertically relative to the running surface of the rail head and pressed thereagainst, and guided along the rail head by a guide roller laterally guiding the mounting along a selected side of the rail head and two additional guide rollers vertically guiding the mounting along the running surface of the rail head. A tool head including a tool holder is mounted on the mounting for displacement relative thereto and a rail planing tool is replaceably mounted in the tool holder and detachably carries a cutting blade having a cutting edge for planing chips or shavings off the rail head by the forward thrust of the machine. A pick-up magnet removes the chips.

    摘要: A device for cutting an edge of a workpiece comprising, a drive head having a carrier, a support bracket connected to the drive head for fixing the drive head with respect to the working piece edge, a tool holder reciprocately movable in and by the drive head, an impact cutting tool connected to the tool holder for cutting the workpiece edge, and a guide sleeve rotatably mounted but fixable in position in the carrier for guiding the motion of the cutting tool. The guide sleeve is rotatable to rotate the cutting tool and bring different edges thereof into a cutting position. Depending on the shape of the cutting tool, a plurality of edges are provided which can be changed as they become dull by rotating the guide sleeve. The axis of a cutting end of the impact tool can also be offset from an axis of the sleeve and an axis of a clamping end of the cutting tool connected to the tool holder to vary the depth at which the edge of the workpiece is cut. This is possible since different edges of the impact tool, when brought into their cutting positions, cut at various depths into the workpiece.

    摘要: A material cutting machine has a tool mount support mounted for reciprocal movement and a tool mount supported by the tool mount support. A driver, such as a pneumatic cylinder, selectively advances and retracts the tool mount support. A control system is operatively coupled to the driver for setting the advancement force of the tool mount support when a tool supported by said tool mount contacts a workpiece, such as the edge or surface of a moving strip. In this way, the depth of cut of the tool is controlled by tool advancement force rather than by accurate positioning of the tool. In one embodiment, the tool mount support may have a head and a base and a resilient member resiliently coupling the head to the base to provide a damped resilience. With this embodiment, a transient spike in the reaction force which may result, for example, from a hard spot in the material, causes the tool to momentarily deflect. Swing links may maintain the lateral positioning of the tool whenever it momentarily retreats due to a reaction force spike. A guide for the tool mount may be pivotably mounted to a frame so that a rake angle of a tool supported by the tool mount may be varied.
