摘要: In an apparatus for measuring the lateral distance between adjacent tracks, a measuring axle has a wheel which is selectively engageable without play with a selected rail of one track while a pivotal projecting arm associates therewith has laterally movable mounted thereon a rolling element for adjusting to the lateral distance between the measuring axle and the rolling element. The rolling element is arranged to sense one rail of the adjacent track as it rolls therealong, and an indicator produces a measuring signal indicating the adjusted lateral distance.

摘要: A railway bogie or a vehicle is so suspended to axleboxes on a plurality of wheelsets that each wheelset can yaw about a center of yaw, move laterally and move vertically relatively to the frame of the bogie or vehicle. Each axle box has a pair of radially opposed arms extending vertically and links extend from the arms in opposed directions laterally to the plane containing the axis of the axle. The links are ball jointed to the arms and also at their other ends. One link is connected to the link on the other side of the frame via a mechanism transmitting motion across the frame. Such a mechanism may involve a beam pivoted to the frame, bell cranks connected by struts, a torsion bar with arms projecting from it or hydraulic conduits between links which are hydraulic piston and cylinders. The mechanism may be repeated on the other side or the links on that side may simply be jointed to the frame. The purpose of the mechanism is to inhibit longitudinal movement of the center of yaw of each wheelset.

摘要: A track working or transport vehicle comprises a frame and two undercarriages supporting the frame. Springs are mounted between the side frames of the undercarriages and the vehicle frame, the springs having a stroke whose length is proportional to variable loads distributed to a respective undercarriage wheel from the vehicle frame. A displacement pickup is connected to each group of springs and arranged to measure the stroke thereof, the pickup generating an electrical output signal proportional to the measured stroke. An arrangement for continuously monitoring and indicating the loads distributed to the respective wheels includes a summation circuit having a first input receiving the output signals from the pickups, a second input received fixed electrical signals proportional to the weight of non-yieldingly mounted parts of the undercarriages, and an output transmitting electrical output signals proportional to the wheel loads derived from the inputs. An indicator device receives each output signal from the summation circuit and correspondingly indicates the wheel loads.

摘要: A mobile rail grinding machine comprises a machine frame mounted on the rails of a track for continuously moving in the direction of, and along, the track, a tool carrier frame vertically adjustably mounted on the machine frame, a rail grinding tool or a group of such tools mounted on the carrier frame for vertical adjustment in a direction vertical to the machine frame to press the tool or tools against surface areas of the rails to grind irregularities off the surface areas, and a drive for imparting to the tool carrier frame a reciprocating working movement in the direction of the track independent of, and additional to, that simultaneously imparted to it by the movement of the machine frame. The invention also is directed to a rail grinding method wherein the rail is ground by such a compound working movement.

摘要: A mobile machine for removing surface irregularities from the faces of rail heads comprises a machine frame, at least one pair of tool carriers transversely aligned with respect to the track and a respective one of the tool carriers being associated with a respective one of the rails, each of the tool carriers being vertically adjustably mounted on the machine frame and arranged for guidance along the respective rail in a vertical and lateral direction, and at least one metal removing tool carried by each of the tool carriers, and at least one longitudinally adjustable spacing member extending transversely to the track between the tool carriers. A pivot connects respective ends of the spacing member to the respective tool carriers, the axes of the pivots extending preferably vertically to a plane defined by the track.

摘要: While a tamping unit with tamping tools for tamping track ballast is lowered to immerse the tamping tools in the ballast and to tamp the same, a metered amount of a liquid bonding medium is delivered to and through internal conduits in the tamping tools and ejected through an opening under pressure thereby to bond together pieces of ballast coated by the ejected bonding medium. The commencement and termination of the bonding medium delivery is controlled in response to the depth of immersion of the tamping tools in the ballast.
