    摘要： A wallcovering border includes a decorative repeating pattern which is imprinted upon a strip of wallcovering of indeterminate length and which has a substantially straight upper edge. The upper edge is applied in engagement with the corner between the wall and the ceiling to thereby permit application of the border to the wall in a substantially straight strip. A score line is embossed on the wallpaper between the decorative pattern and the upper edge. The portion of the border between the edge and the pattern is removed along the score line after the border is initially positioned on the wall to thereby provide a decorative border having a nonlinear upper edge.

    摘要： Tools for finishing joints at flat surfaces or corners of wallboard walls after adhesive and tape have been applied are attached to the applicator tool by a rotatable yoke connection near the roller of the applicator so that the finishing tool will follow the applicator tool. The finishing tool includes a roller rotatable about an axle for embedding tape into the adhesive. Frame structure rotatably supported on the roller axle is provided with trowel means having a working surface moving parallel to the wallboard surface and placed close to the roller, at least on the sides, to spread adhesive pressed from under the tape back over the tape. Finishing means attached to the frame structure to follow the trowel collects the excess adhesive and distributes it in a smooth surface generally in the plane of the wallboard, filling in any voids left by trowel action. A cylindrical roller is used for joints in flat wallboard. A finishing tool having a complex roller having a base-to-base dual right frustoconcial form with an axle on the common axes of the cones and conical surfaces meeting at an angle of no more than 90.degree. is used in the corner.

    摘要： Wallboard tape and compound are simultaneously dispensed through an applicator which is provided with a pressurized reservoir which acts as a fluid capacitor to ensure an even application of compound to the tape, even under intermittent and uneven tape application rates. Applicator nozzles are provided for applying the tape and compound to flat surfaces as well as to corner joints. Compound is wiped from the edges of the tape and the remaining compound is subsequently spread laterally to these wiped edge areas so that no excess compound is extruded from under the tape, thereby avoiding subsequent wiping and clean-up procedures.

    摘要： A handtool for the application of sheet materials to surfaces, specifically the application of wall coverings to walls, is of obtuse angle triangle shape, with a knife blade at each base apex, the tip apex being rounded for folding the sheet into a corner and the edges adjacent the tip constituting guides for the respective knife blades. One blade may be circular and rotary with the guide edge tangential thereto, while the other blade is triangular with the guide edge colinear with the cutting edge. The circular blade may be toothed with a recessed cutting edge, while the triangular blade may be equilateral to provide six cutting edges by transposition and reversal. Two similar guides are provided on opposite sides of the body slidable in guideways between a retracted position and extended positions in which they lie alongside the knives to guide their cutting with respect to a surface engaged by the guide.
