摘要: A method for improving nutrient density in crops. The crops may be fed to animals to improve health of the animals and/or to improve bioavailability of such nutrients in animals. The method may include providing a humic substance from an organic material, combining the humic substance with at least one nutrient, and growing crops using the combination of humic substance and at least one nutrient. The method may further include feeding the crops to animals. The combination of humic substance and at least one nutrient may be mixed before growing the crops. The at least one nutrient may include copper, magnesium, manganese, cobalt, zinc, and/or phosphate, among others.

摘要: The invention provides for methods, devices, and systems for pyrolyzing biomass. A pyrolysis unit can be used for the pyrolysis of biomass to form gas, liquid, and solid products. The biomass materials can be selected such that an enhanced biochar is formed after pyrolysis. The biomass can be pyrolyzed under specified conditions such that a selected biochar core is formed. The pyrolysis process can form a stable biochar core that is inert and/or resistant to degradation. The biochar or biochar core can be functionalized to form a functionalized biochar or functionalized biochar core. Functionalized can include post-pyrolysis treatments such as supplementation with microbes or physical transformations including annealing and/or activation.

The marking bodies in the mixture do not impair the intended use of the pourable materials. The pourable materials can be peat, compost, humus, clay, lava, pumice-stone, sand, fertilizers, soil stabilizers, soil improving substances, recycled soil substances, soil drainage substances and soil fillers.

摘要: Peat moss is prepared in the form of coherent cakes by drying granulated moss peat until the moisture content thereof is reduced to 10 to 30 percent by weight, and then compressing the thus-dried moss peat in a mold at a pressure between 1 and 4 British tons/in.2 until upon releasing the pressure the moss peat has the form of a cake having between one-sixth and one-twelfth its bulk size before compression. The coherent cake is easily reconstituted by wetting, and to this end may include a non-ionic wetting agent.

摘要: In one aspect, the disclosure relates to slow-release fertilizers including a peat and an optional filler material such as, for example sand, methods of making the same, methods of improving the growth of plants including using the same, and plants grown using the disclosed methods. The slow-release fertilizers are environmentally safe and conducive to the establishment of various plants, including ground cover plants. In some aspects, the slow-release fertilizers induce soil-water repellency in systems in which they are applied and can be useful for research as well as horticultural purposes. In another aspect, the slow-release fertilizers provide increased levels of ammonia, amino acids, and other nutrients relative to conventional fertilizers. 摘要: There is provided a biogas flux chamber constructed in one embodiment from a metal can with an open bottom and an epoxy interior coating. The chamber is inserted into the soil to allow influx of soil gases. The lid includes a sampling septum and a vent tube to prevent pressure build-up when the lid is in place which allows for an increase in interior gas concentrations. The rubber sampling septum is installed in a hole in the lid. The vent tube is constructed using flexible copper tubing inserted through the lid and secured using a bulkhead-fitting, and rubber O-ring to seal the insertion hole. The copper tubing is bent to form a double-curved ‘C’ shape which positions the open ends of the tube above and below the lid surfaces.
