摘要: The invention provides for methods, devices, and systems for pyrolyzing biomass. A pyrolysis unit can be used for the pyrolysis of biomass to form gas, liquid, and solid products. The biomass materials can be selected such that an enhanced biochar is formed after pyrolysis. The biomass can be pyrolyzed under specified conditions such that a selected biochar core is formed. The pyrolysis process can form a stable biochar core that is inert and/or resistant to degradation. The biochar or biochar core can be functionalized to form a functionalized biochar or functionalized biochar core. Functionalized can include post-pyrolysis treatments such as supplementation with microbes or physical transformations including annealing and/or activation.

摘要: A dry, flowable fertilizer is provided that includes multiple dry, flowable biosolids pellets. Each of the pellets has a pellet surface. Potassium salt grains are adhered to the pellet surfaces and a dust control agent coating is applied to retain the grains on the pellet surfaces. The resultant dry, flowable fertilizer has higher potassium loadings to the potassium salt grains than previous biosolids based fertilizers. A process of forming a fertilizer is also provided that includes tumbling dry, flowable biosolids pellets with powdered potassium salt grains to form a mixture. An aqueous spray is added to adhere the salt grains to the pellet surfaces. With the application of a dust control agent, the salt grains are retained. Potassium levels in NPK units of from 1 to 15 are routinely achieved with greater than 90 elemental % of the potassium is from the surface decorating potassium salt grains.

The iron(III)oxides preferably are microparticulate. The composition suitably comprises iron(III)oxides and potassium metabisulfite as potentiating agent. Other aspects of the invention relate to binding the moisture content of soils, as well as compositions for use in enhancing the efficacy of soil retaining compositions.

摘要: Viscoelastic surfactant based aqueous fluid systems useful as thickening agents in various applications, e.g. to suspend particles produced during the excavation of geologic formations. The surfactants are zwitterionic/amphoteric surfactants such as dihydroxyl alkyl glycinate, alkyl ampho acetate or propionate, alkyl betaine, alkyl amidopropyl betaine and alkylimino mono- or di-propionates derived from certain waxes, fats and oils. The thickening agent is used in conjunction with an inorganic water-soluble salt or organic additive such as phthalic acid, salicylic acid or their salts.

摘要: The uptake of foliar-applied metal ion nutrients, for example, zinc, iron, magnesium and copper, is influenced by humidity. Specifically, uptake is negatively impacted if the zinc is applied under low humidity, as the metal ion is “locked up” by leaf waxes as the droplet dries on the surface of the leaf, thereby rendering the metal ion useless. Described herein is a foliar metal ion fertilizer comprising (a) a metal ion sulphate in combination with a mixture of (b) urea and (c) a substance with a suitable point of deliquescence (POD) such as organic surfactants, calcium chloride, magnesium chloride or combinations thereof.
