    Abstract: A linear actuator system includes a linear actuator and at least one integrated pump assembly connected to the linear actuator to provide fluid to operate the linear actuator. The integrated pump assembly includes a pump with at least one fluid driver comprising a prime mover and a fluid displacement assembly to be driven by the prime mover such that fluid is transferred from a first port of the pump to a second port of the pump. The pump assembly also includes two valve assembles to isolate the pump from the system. The linear actuator system also includes a controller that establishes at least one of a speed and a torque of the at least one prime mover to exclusively adjust at least one of a flow and a pressure in the linear actuator system to an operational set point.

    Abstract: A refrigeration system includes a startup mode control module that receives an off time of a compressor of the refrigeration system and an ambient temperature, determines whether the off time and the ambient temperature indicate that the compressor is in a flooded condition, and selects, based on the determination, between a normal startup mode and a flooded startup mode. A compressor control module operates the compressor in the normal startup mode in response to the startup mode control module selecting the normal startup mode, in the flooded startup mode in response to the startup mode control module selecting the flooded startup mode, and transitions from the flooded startup mode to the normal startup mode after a predetermined period associated with operating in the flooded startup mode. The compressor is operated at a first speed in the normal startup mode and at a second speed in the flooded startup mode.

    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a multi-stage compression system in which the drive speed of each compressor that constitutes the multi-stage compression system is individually controlled to increase compression efficiency, and a control method thereof. To this end, the present disclosure includes at least two compressors, at least two driving devices connected to each of the compressors in series to drive the compressors connected in series, at least two pressure detectors installed at a discharge end of each of the compressors to detect a discharge pressure of each compressor, and a control unit configured to individually control a drive speed of each driving device based on the discharge pressure of each compressor detected through each of the pressure detectors.

    Abstract: An embodiment of method used to control operation of a screw compressor of a refrigeration system may include receiving status signals regarding operation of the screw compressor of the refrigeration system. The method may further include determining an operating point of the screw compressor based upon the received status signals, and selecting a torque profile for the screw compressor based upon the operating point. The method may also include driving the screw compressor per the selected torque profile. Refrigeration systems and compressor systems suitable for implementing the method are also presented.

    Abstract: A motor-driven compressor includes: a compression mechanism; an electric motor that drives the compression mechanism; a driver circuit unit disposed at a position to be cooled by refrigerant drawn by the compression mechanism; a temperature detection unit that detects a temperature of the driver circuit unit; and a motor control device disposed in the driver circuit unit to control the motor. The motor control device stores a predetermined drive pattern corresponding to a temperature characteristic of the driver circuit unit after starting the motor. When the temperature detected by the temperature detection unit at a time of starting the motor is higher than or equal to a predetermined temperature, the motor control device performs a limit drive control according to the predetermined drive pattern regardless of a drive state command to the motor.
