摘要: A method and apparatus is provided for facilitating coherent communication reception. A received reference symbol coded spread spectrum communication signal is despread with a spreading code to derive a stream of reference samples and a stream of data samples. The channel response is estimated by utilizing the stream of reference samples. An offset frequency detector determines an offset to be applied to the received signal via a frequency locked loop, while a timing control compensates for slow timing drift and fast fading based on power estimates derived from the stream of reference samples and/or the stream of data samples. A slot detector controls gates which optimize the timing control and frequency offset detector outputs from the various timing branches. Thus an improved detection of estimated data symbols from the stream of received data samples is provided.

摘要: A coherent RAKE receiver utilizes a "blind block" path gain estimation scheme, based on a maximum likelihood criterion, to estimate path gains in the receiver. It is "blind" in that preliminary hard decisions on coded bits (i.e., coded bits from the corrupt transmitted signal) are not used. Instead, a form of soft decisions are used. It is a "block" scheme in that the complex path gains are estimated for an isolated block, for example a block of B correlator outputs. The path gains varying with time are approximated to be linear in time such that the average path gain and the slope of the path gain per path can be utilized to estimate the path gain. The path gain estimation scheme overcomes the shortcomings of typical CDMA systems where there is no assurance of continuous transmission (except for full-rate 9600 b/s transmission) upon which to base a FIR filter-type prediction scheme.

摘要: Filtering for sampled data representing uplink wireless RF signals monitored by a pair of antennas is provided to improve accuracy in determining an angular location of an identified UE. An extracted portion of the filtered sampled data is used to improve accuracy in determining an angular location of the identified UE. The extracted portion represents direct path uplink wireless RF signals that have traveled by a line of sight between the pair of antennas and the identified UE. Another portion of the filtered sampled data is cancelled, which represents multiple path (multipath) uplink wireless RF signals that have traveled a longer distance than the direct path signals due to reflection from one or more surfaces on multiple paths between the identified UE and the pair of antennas.

摘要: In order to make it possible to prevent occurrence of an interference among terminal apparatuses when a base station forms a beam toward a terminal apparatus by beam-forming to transmit a downlink signal, and to improve reception quality at a terminal apparatus. A base station of the present disclosure includes a memory storing instructions and one or more processors configured to execute the instructions to: perform channel estimations respectively on a plurality of terminal apparatuses; and determine a transmission layer of a target terminal apparatus by comparing angular profiles respectively obtained on the basis of channel estimates on the target terminal apparatus and at least one comparable terminal apparatus out of the plurality of terminal apparatuses and performing a path exclusion process to exclude, from transmission layers of the target terminal apparatus, a path that falls within a certain angular range around a path angle indicated by an angular profile of the at least one comparable terminal apparatus.

摘要: Time-offset, time-overlapping signals are received. The signals each include a pilot code, and at least some of the signals each include a user code occupying a time slot time-synchronized to a respective pilot code. Time-offset cross-correlation peaks for respective ones of the pilot codes are generated, each cross-correlation peak indicating a respective one of the time slots. For each time slot a respective projection vector including user code projections each indicative of whether a respective user code of known user codes is present in the time slot is generated. Particular ones of the projection vectors are selectively combined into an aggregate projection vector of aggregate user code projections, such that the aggregate projection vector has a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) greater than the projection vectors individually. The user code is selected from among the known user codes based on the aggregate user code projections of the aggregate projection vector.
