    摘要: Filtering for sampled data representing uplink wireless RF signals monitored by a pair of antennas is provided to improve accuracy in determining an angular location of an identified UE. An extracted portion of the filtered sampled data is used to improve accuracy in determining an angular location of the identified UE. The extracted portion represents direct path uplink wireless RF signals that have traveled by a line of sight between the pair of antennas and the identified UE. Another portion of the filtered sampled data is cancelled, which represents multiple path (multipath) uplink wireless RF signals that have traveled a longer distance than the direct path signals due to reflection from one or more surfaces on multiple paths between the identified UE and the pair of antennas.

The Rake receiver also includes a channel detection circuit configured to identify at least one channel tap in a received signal, and a placement circuit configured to place a finger of the predetermined number of fingers at a location corresponding to the at least one identified channel tap. If all of the predetermined number of fingers are not associated with a corresponding channel tap, unplaced fingers of the predetermined number of fingers are placed at locations based on a signal-to-interference ratio estimate at an output of the combiner.

    摘要: The method disclosed herein is implemented in a radio receiver to detect an AWGN channel, where the radio receiver comprises a rake receiver. The radio receiver receives signals transmitted via a propagation channel from a transmitter, and determines that the propagation channel is an AWGN channel when a filtered version of a minimum value of a metric is lower than a threshold value. The metric relates to a difference between a normalized measured power profile of the propagation channel and a normalized power template, which normalized power template is dependent on predetermined sampling timing shifts and on rake finger positions within the rake receiver.

    摘要: A receiver receives multipath signals in a W-CDMA system. Channel estimates and timing reference signals are generated utilizing the received multipath signals. Timing correction signals indicating a location of the received multipath signals may be generated and the received multipath signals may be combined based on the computed channel estimates and/or the generated timing reference signals. The multipath signals may be combined as a signal cluster. Circuitry may be provided that computes channel estimates based on at least one of a plurality of received multipath signals, and generates timing reference signals indicating a location of at least one of the plurality of received multipath signals. Circuitry may also be provided that combines at least a portion of the plurality of received multipath signals based on at least a portion of the computed channel estimates and/or the generated timing reference signals.

Also included is a scheduling unit selecting one or more user equipments at predetermined intervals according to one or more judgment criteria and reporting to the path detection unit. The one or more judgment criteria includes criteria for selecting the user equipment with the demodulation signal which has a higher fading frequency.
