摘要: A packet forwarding method includes receiving N Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) packet flows, where each of the N TSN packet flows corresponds to a constraint condition that defines duration of a cycle, a maximum quantity of packets that are allowed to be transmitted in the cycle, and a maximum length of a single packet, and forwarding the N TSN packet flows based on a new constraint condition, where the new constraint condition is based on the constraint condition corresponding to each of the N TSN packet flows and defines duration of a new cycle, a new maximum quantity of new packets that are allowed to be transmitted in the new cycle, and a new maximum length of a new packet, where each of the N TSN packet flows is forwarded in a case in which a corresponding constraint condition is complied with.

摘要: A component of a cellular communication system is configured to prioritize data packets based on packet tags that have been associated with the data packets. The packet tags may comprise an application identifier and a customer identifier, as examples. A Packet Data Convergence Protocol (PDCP) layer of a radio protocol stack receives a data packet and associated packet tags and assigns the data packet to a preferred transmission queue or a non-preferred transmission queue, based on the packet tags associated with the data packet. In order to manage queue overflows, data packets of the non-preferred transmission queue may be discarded when they have been queued for more than a predetermined length of time. Data packets of the preferred transmission queue, however, are retained regardless of how long they have been queued.

摘要: A network device processes received packets to determine port or ports of the network device via which to transmit the packets. The network device classifies the packets into packet flows and selects, based at least in part on one or more characteristics of data being transmitted in the respective packet flows, a first packet memory having a first memory access bandwidth or a second packet memory having a second memory access bandwidth, and buffers the packets in the selected first or second packet memory which the packets are being processed by the network device. After processing the packets, the network device retrieves the packets from the first packet memory or the second packet memory in which the packets are buffered, and forwards the packets to the determined one or more ports for transmission of the packets.

摘要: Embodiments concern managing traffic in a radio device. While classifying user-plane packets from multiple applications according to quality of service requirements, a specific user-plane packet is classified as/determined to be a predetermined special-type packet (e.g., the special-type packets establish a new TCP/IP connection for a newly activated application). Based on that, that specific user-plane packet is mapped to a pre-defined radio bearer associated with a preconfigured priority, for example a highest priority among all bearers to which any of these user-plane packets from the multiple applications are mapped. Then all the mapped user-plane packets are scheduled for transmission according to their respective priorities. For example, the specific user-plane packet could be a SDU having a SYN, SYN-ACK or ACK, and the network convergence sub-layer (NCS) constructs a L2 NCS PDU using a designated format with the SDU in the payload and context information in the header.

摘要: A distributed computing system, such as may be used to implement an electronic trading system, controls inbound message flow rates. Limiting a per-client or per-connection inbound message rate also helps ensure fair provisioning of computing resources, so that a single client's excessive use of resources cannot overwhelm the system to such an extent that it prevents other clients from interacting with the distributed system. It is also desirable to have system-wide control of the overall inbound message rate across all client connections. Such system-wide control ensures that the distributed system as a whole can maintain the required levels of service, including offering a predictable level of access for all clients.

摘要: An apparatus for optimization for Spanning Tree Protocol (“STP”) data network includes an egress filter setting circuit in a first network node that sets an egress filter to discard data packets at an egress port of the first network node connected to a second network node in response to receiving an egress filter bridge protocol data unit (“BPDU”) message from the second network node indicating that a link between the first network node and the second network node is a redundant link. The network nodes are layer-2 STP bridges. The apparatus includes, in the first network node, an egress filter timeout circuit that resets a timer in response to receiving the egress filter BPDU message, and a filter clear circuit that clears the egress filter to allow data packets to be sent from the egress port to the second network node in response to the timer reaching a timeout.
