摘要： In an image recording device, in a case where a J-th nozzle (H2 [3]) of a certain image recording head (H2) among plural image recording heads (H1, H2) is in a discharge defect state, a dot size of an image recording droplet discharged from a J-th nozzle (H1 [3]) of an image recording head (H1) other than the image recording head (H2) is changed to a size within dot sizes used in normal image recording in a high-speed image recording mode, which is larger than a dot size of an image recording droplet to be discharged from the discharging nozzle (H2 [3]). In a low-speed image recording mode, the dot size of the image recording droplet discharged from the discharging nozzle (H1 [3]) is changed to a size which is larger than the largest dot size among dot sizes used in the normal image recording.

摘要： A method for creating a printed image with sections on an object using at least two inkjet print heads, includes forming the image of first and second image sections, in a y direction at a fixed angle different than 0° and 180° relative to an object conveying direction, printing print dots of the first and second sections using first and second heads having first and second inkjet nozzles with the sections partially overlapping in a region and potentially forming a light or dark line, defining first and second complementary nozzle fields of the first and second heads to be active for each column of dots in the y direction, and placing a joint between the fields in the overlap region in a light or dark area of the column for each column of dots, avoiding potentially disruptive light or dark lines at the joint and keeping the image without defect.

The method forms a plurality of thickness measurement patterns respectively on a plurality of pattern forming areas defined on the print medium by causing the plurality of nozzles of the inkjet head to eject ink drops, and forms a plurality of judging patterns respectively on the plurality of pattern forming areas. The ejection conditions of the plurality of nozzles, when the plurality of thickness measurement patterns are formed, are the same among the plurality of pattern forming areas. Further, the ejection conditions of the plurality of nozzles when the first judging pattern is formed and when the second judging pattern is formed are the same among the plurality of pattern forming areas.
