    摘要: A formable curable elastomer composition comprising a dispersion of a cured organic elastomer, such as EPDM, butyl rubber and hydrogenated nitrile butyl rubber, is provided in an uncured silicone elastomer. The organic elastomer is cured by a phenol-formaldehyde resin. These compositions can generally be used in applications where silicone rubber is used, and in particular where the cured rubber is liable to be exposed to temperatures of 150-200° C. Examples of such uses include tyre bladders used in the moulding of tyres, spark plug boots for internal combustion engines, wire and cable coatings designed to be used at high temperatures and ceramifiable wire and cable coatings used in safety critical applications such as emergency lighting systems.

    摘要: A process for the solution polymerization of olefins with improved on-stream time is provided. The solution polymerization process of the current invention comprises a method for the on-line removal of foulant material from one or more heat exchangers downstream of a polymerization reactor. Removal of foulant material is accomplished by deliberately applying a positive pressure differential across a heat exchanger. In the process of the current invention, reactor shut down is not required for the purpose of cleaning foulant material from a heat exchanger.

    摘要: Novel fluid mixtures of specified hydrocarbons meeting an array of structural criteria are described. Linear hydrocarbons having terminal double bonds and internal segments of specified differing chain lengths separated by one or more carbon atom(s) each of which has a methylidene substituent make up one group of such compounds. Another group is alkenyl end-capped compounds of the first group. Third and fourth groups are products formed by hydrogenation of the first and second groups, respectively. The products, whether end-capped or not, and whether hydrogenated or not, have desirable lubricating properties such as suitably low pour points and/or low NOACK volatility and/or very high viscosity index and thus can be used as base oils or as components in formulating lubricants.

    摘要: A compound having the molecular formula: ##STR1## wherein, M is selected from the group consisting of pentavalent atoms of Group V of the Periodic Table; R.sub.1, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are selected from the group consisting of substituent groups bondable to M; X is an electron withdrawing group; A is a connecting group capable of undergoing either condensation or addition reactions with compatible function groups of other compounds; R.sub.4 is an optional connecting group between the X and A groups; B is selected from the group consisting of R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3, O--X--R.sub.4).sub.n A and O--X--R.sub.5, and wherein R.sub.5 is selected from the group consisting of R.sub.1, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 ; and n is the integer 0 or 1. These pentavalent atom-containing compositions may be reacted into polymers with monomers, prepolymers or polymers. The compositions and polymers have flame-retardant properties.
