A flexible sealing member located below the ballast protection plate can include at least one flange portion and at least one expansion feature. Each expansion feature can include a shape preformed into the flexible sealing member extending downward into the deck joint and configured to deflect, enabling variation in the width of the flexible sealing member to match the width of the deck joint.

    摘要: A lifting device is configured to support a bridge cap when lifting the cap onto columns under a bridge deck. The lifting device includes an upper bracket arm configured to extend over an upper surface of the deck, and a lower bracket arm configured to extend under a bottom surface of the deck, and to selectively engage the cap. A side bracket portion connects the lower and upper arms, and is configured to transmit a force associated with a weight of the cap to the upper arm. The upper and lower arms and the side bracket portion are configured to define an open space extending from free ends of the upper and lower arms to the side bracket portion. The space is configured to receive the deck when the lifting device is supporting the cap as the cap is being lifted onto the columns.

    摘要: A bridge supports any desired loading capacity to cross rivers, ravines, highways, wetlands, and other areas where traffic or pedestrians conveniently access the opposite side. The structure is assembled in a number of ways at the bridge site, using smaller equipment and less time than is normally required. The prefabricated and trial fitted elements can be assembled at ground level and the structure can be launched on rollers across the area that is to be crossed, or can be assembled sequentially from one or both sides. The structure includes two or more box girders supporting the bridge deck which is integrated into the structure. The upper portion of the girders form the side barriers of the bridge and the deck with integrated cross members is fastened to the lower portion of the girders, both of which are sized to accommodate the load bearing capacity of the traffic using the structure.

    摘要: A load supporting structure such as a bridge deck is mounted on two spaced beams and includes a pre-cast concrete panel with a plurality of transverse tension straps attached to the edges of the panel by anchoring studs attached to the tension member and embedded within the panel such the tension straps—prevent spreading of the panel so that loads are transferred from an upper surface of the panel to the beams by forming a compressive arch within the panel. A concrete deck slab is cast over the pre-cast panel and is attached to the tension straps by embedded anchor studs located on the straps outside the panel so as to form a compressive arch within the slab. The compressive arch loading avoids the use of tension reinforcing steel in the concrete which can corrode. The use of a pre-cast panel and cast slab simplifies assembly as no welding to the beams on site is required.
