    摘要: A self alignment structure for applications joining extruded members is provided. The self-aligning structure may comprise one or more bridge decking members including an upper panel and a lower panel connected by webbing members therebetween. One side of the bridge decking member have a void space between the upper panel and lower panel and an other side the decking member may have a vertical webbing member between the upper panel and the lower panel. The self aligning structure may further include an upper shelf and lower shelf, each extending horizontally away from the vertical webbing member, operable to align a neighboring decking member, forming abutment joints in preparation for the application of a joining application, such as a friction stir welding tool.

    摘要: A bridge supports any desired loading capacity to cross rivers, ravines, highways, wetlands, and other areas where traffic or pedestrians conveniently access the opposite side. The structure is assembled in a number of ways at the bridge site, using smaller equipment and less time than is normally required. The prefabricated and trial fitted elements can be assembled at ground level and the structure can be launched on rollers across the area that is to be crossed, or can be assembled sequentially from one or both sides. The structure includes two or more box girders supporting the bridge deck which is integrated into the structure. The upper portion of the girders form the side barriers of the bridge and the deck with integrated cross members is fastened to the lower portion of the girders, both of which are sized to accommodate the load bearing capacity of the traffic using the structure.

    摘要: An Arctic Transport system which consists of a monorail track, supported by pylons at relatively short intervals, and a conveyor chain riding on the track. The conveyor chain consists of self propelled trolleys travelling at constant speed over a course with a direction reversing element at each end. Load units are accelerated by automatic means and attached to these trolleys at definite insert stations. These loads are removed at specific exit stations as controlled by automated signals and brought to stop or to any other transport system by automated controls. The load units are charged with materials to be transported at loading stations by automated loading mechanisms, preferrably with turnstile arrangements. These units are subsequently inserted into the transport chain and attached to trolleys by automated logistic mechanism.

    摘要: A composite structural support which may be utilized as a beam or assembled with similar supports to form a building floor or a bridge deck utilizes an open core element, made preferably of suitably treated fluted paper, upper and lower thin steel skins, and a layer of concrete poured over the top skin. Modules comprising the hollow core element and the upper and lower steel skins are fabricated to lengths required for building floor and bridge spans and, when joined by welding the upper and lower skins of adjacent elements along their full lengths, provide a floor or deck structure of a large span. The open core paper elements may be alternately fabricated from single face corrugated webs or open face double wall webs that are slit to form narrow equal width strips stacked and glued face-to-face.
