Abstract:
A system and method for providing a secure user interface in a shared resource environment. Various aspects of the present invention may comprise establishing a first wireless communication link between a first system and a user interface system. A first wireless communication port may, for example, establish such a wireless communication link. A first secure communication pathway may be established between the first system and the user interface system. A first secure communication module may, for example, establish such a secure communication pathway. A second wireless communication link may be established between a second system and the user interface system. A second wireless communication port may, for example, establish such a wireless communication link. A second communication pathway between the second system and the user interface system may be established. A second communication module may, for example, establish such a communication pathway.
Abstract:
The modular wireless headset includes at least one wearable earpiece and at least one wearable microphone, where the earpiece is physically separate from the microphone. The wearable earpiece is operably to render inbound radio frequencies received from a host device audible. To do this, the wearable earpiece includes, at least, a receiver module, a data recovery module, and a speaker module. The receiver module is operably coupled to convert the inbound RF signals into low intermediate frequency (IF) signals. The data recovery module is operably coupled to recover audio signals from the low IF signals. The speaker module is operably coupled to render the audio signals audible. The wearable microphone is operable to convert received audio signals into outbound RF signals, where the outbound RF signals are transmitted to the host device. The wearable microphone includes, at least, an audio input module and a transmitter module. The audio input module is operably coupled to convert received analog audio signals into digital audio signals. The transmitter module is operably coupled to convert the digital audio signals into the outbound RF signals.
Abstract:
A method for preparing a library is provided in which the library contains an array of elements and each element contains a different combination of materials. A related apparatus includes an x-ray beam directed at the library, a chamber which houses the library and a beamline for directing the x-ray beam onto the library in the chamber. The chamber may include a translation stage that holds the library and that is programmable to change the position of the library relative to the x-ray beam and a controller that controls the movement of the translation stage to expose an element to the x-ray beam in order to rapidly characterize the element in the library. During the characterization, the x-ray beam scatters off of the element and a detector detects the scattered x-ray beam in order to generate characterization data for the element.
Abstract:
A sensor-array based materials characterization apparatus for characterizing one or more material properties of at least five test samples, wherein the apparatus includes a sensor array disposed on a substrate; electronic test circuitry for sending electrical signals to and receiving electrical signals from the sensor array; electronic circuitry for routing signals between selected sensors and the electronic test circuitry; and a computer or processor electrically coupled to electronic test circuitry and electronic circuitry.
Abstract:
A mechanism for manually and automatically adjusting the front support drum of an endless conveyor within the feederhouse of an agricultural combine. The front drum is rotatably affixed to the remote end of a pivot arm that is pivotably affixed to the side sheet of the feederhouse. The relative position of the drum to the floor of the feederhouse is manually adjustable by manipulation of a cam that moves the pivot arm toward and away from the floor to preset positions. In combination with the adjustment mechanism, is a pivot mounting for the pivot arm that allows the drum to move upwardly and rearwardly when a bulk or lump of crop material enters the opening between the drum and the floor, thereby preventing damage to the components of the feederhouse.
Abstract:
A method, system and data structures for software development and execution includes a Run Time Event Manager and a set of Models. A Model is a type of data structure that contains no code but an ordered set of references to other Models, to Methods, or other Objects. Models are made accessible to the Run Time Event Manager by registering them upon satisfaction of a set of conditions. In one embodiment of the invention, the Run Time Events Manager is a fetch-execute loop implemented in code that, upon each loop, operates upon one of a set of Models, checks external I/O conditions and, subject to such conditions, may process different or Variant Models, rather than standard or Paradigm Models associated with default conditions. Also, an Elastic Database may be implemented according to the invention that permits dynamically extensible database functionality.
