Abstract: A surface cleaning apparatus comprises having a primary dirty air inlet and a drive handle drivingly connected to the surface cleaning head and comprising an above floor cleaning wand, a flexible hose and an auxiliary dirty air inlet, wherein the all in the head surface cleaning apparatus is useable in a floor cleaning mode in which the drive handle is drivingly connected to the surface cleaning head and air enters the all in the head surface cleaning apparatus via the primary dirty air inlet of the surface cleaning head and an above floor cleaning mode wherein the above floor cleaning wand is extended from a stored position and air enters the all in the head surface cleaning apparatus via the auxiliary dirty air inlet.

Abstract: A reconfigurable upright vacuum cleaner has a portable surface cleaning unit removably mounted to an upper portion. The portable surface cleaning unit has a suction motor and an air treatment member. The air treatment member is removably mounted to the portable surface cleaning unit and secured in position by an air treatment member lock. The portable surface cleaning unit is secured in position by a portable surface cleaning unit lock. When the portable surface cleaning unit is mounted to the upper portion and the upper portion is in the storage position, the portable surface cleaning unit actuator is provided on an upper end of the portable surface cleaning unit and the air treatment member release actuator is provided on an upper end of the air treatment member.
