    Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide methods and apparatus for sounding reference signal (SRS) triggering and power control for coordinated multi-point (CoMP) operations. One method generally includes maintaining separate power control processes for at least a first aperiodic SRS (A-SRS) and a second A-SRS, receiving, in a first subframe, a downlink transmission triggering transmission of at least one of the first and second A-SRS in a subsequent subframe, identifying which of the first and second A-SRS to transmit in the subsequent subframe, receiving a first power control command that indicates a power control value to apply to the identified A-SRS, and transmitting the identified A-SRS based in accordance with the first power control command.

    Abstract: Various aspects described herein relate to rate matching around reference signaling. A discovery reference signal (DRS) configuration is received that identifies first resources related to non-zero power reference signals for DRS transmitted by a cell over a first bandwidth and second resources related to zero power reference signals for the DRS over a second bandwidth. The first bandwidth can be less than or equal to the second bandwidth. At least one channel can be received from the cell along with an instance of the non-zero power reference signals and the zero power reference signals. Rate matching can be performed for the at least one channel around the second resources over the second bandwidth.

    Abstract: Mechanisms for reduction of channel state information (CSI) feedback overhead are disclosed for full dimensional multiple input, multiple output (FD-MIMO) systems with large dimension antenna ports. In one aspect, rank-dependent CSI antenna port measurements are used in order to limit the number of antenna ports for high rank CSI reporting. Another aspect allows a user equipment (UE) to select subband feedback for aperiodic CSI porting on an uplink shared channel when the UE is to report subband quality and precoding indicators. Another aspect provides for on-demand CSI feedback that dynamically configures CSI feedback parameters. To reduce the signaling overhead, the multiple parameter sets may be pre-configured with different values for dynamic reporting parameters.

    Abstract: In narrowband communication, channels may use repetitions in multiple subframes. SPS and DRX for the narrowband communication may not accommodate such repetitions, because repetitions for a channel may fall only partially within a DRX ON duration. An apparatus addresses this problem by determining a DRX ON duration, determining a set of subframes carrying a narrowband PDCCH candidate and determining that the DRX ON duration at least partially overlaps with the set of subframes of the narrowband PDCCH. The apparatus then refrains from decoding the first narrowband PDCCH candidate, decodes the first narrowband PDCCH candidate, or extends the DRX ON duration to include the set of subframes entirely and decoding the first narrowband PDCCH candidate carried in the set of subframes in the extended DRX ON duration. The apparatus may also determine DRX configuration parameters based on parameters of bundled channels, and handle invalid subframes for an SPS grant.

    Abstract: Cell selection techniques are provided for network access to cells that may employ one or more coverage enhancement techniques. A user equipment (UE), which may be a machine type communication (MTC) device, upon initial acquisition or upon wakeup may measure a reference signal received power (RSRP), reference signal received quality (RSRQ), or both, and determine a cell selection value based at least in part on the RSRP, RSRQ, or a combination thereof. The cell selection value may be determined based on an offset, which may be selected based on a measurement accuracy capability of the UE. UE sequential access attempts, neighbor cell list information that may include coverage enhancement of neighboring cells transmissions, and cell re-selection measurement frequency adjustments are also described.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive a first slot format configuration for a first cell associated with a first radio access technology (RAT) and a first radio frequency spectrum band that conflicts with a second slot format configuration for a second cell associated with a second RAT and a second radio frequency spectrum band during at least a portion of a transmission time interval (TTI). The UE may determine that the first cell has a priority over the second cell, based on the configured slot formats or based on the radio frequency bands, and may drop a communication on the second cell based on the identified priority. The UE may then communicate during at least a portion of the TTI on the first cell while the UE drops a communication on the second cell.

    Abstract: Techniques for wireless communication are described, which may include establishing a connection, by a user equipment (UE), with a first and second evolved NodeB (eNB), wherein each of the eNBs provide radio resources to the UE for respective uplink communications; receiving from the first eNB, at the UE, an indication including an allocation of uplink transmit power between the first eNB and at least the second eNB; and transmitting the uplink communications from the UE to the first and second eNBs based on the indication. The techniques may further include coordinating, by a first eNB, multi-connectivity communication for a UE with at least the first eNB and a second eNB; determining for the UE, at the eNB, an allocation of uplink transmit power between the first eNB and at least the second eNB; and transmitting an indication including the allocation of uplink transmit power allocation from the first eNB to the UE.

    Abstract: Techniques are described for wireless communications at a user equipment (UE). One method includes determining a first cell identifier (ID) associated with a first downlink transmission in a first radio frequency spectrum band of paired radio frequency spectrum bands, determining a second cell ID associated with a second downlink transmission in a second radio frequency spectrum band of the paired radio frequency spectrum bands, and communicating based on the first cell ID and the second cell ID. In some cases, the method may include determining a cell ID associated with a downlink transmission in an uplink radio frequency spectrum band, and receiving the downlink transmission in a subframe of the uplink radio frequency spectrum band. The downlink transmission may be based on the cell ID and a format of a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH), and may include an eight layer single-user multiple-input multiple-output (SU-MIMO) transmission.
