Abstract:
A heterogeneous catalyst composition suitable for olefinic polymerization and to methods of forming polyolefinic products using said composition. The catalyst composition comprises an anionic metalloid silane modified inorganic oxide and the cationic remnant of a transition metal bidentate or tridentate compound represented by the formula: T—[—SiR′R″ODM(Q)3]a−n[Cat]b+m wherein each of the symbols above is defined within the subject application.
Abstract:
Neutral, multidentate azacyclic ligands and Group 3-10 transition metal complexes that contain them are disclosed. The ligands have the general formula: Ra—A—(L)b where R is hydrogen or hydrocarbyl, A is silicon, tin, germanium, or lead, each L is a pyrazolyl, triazolyl, or tetraazolyl group, a=0 to 2, b=2 to 4, and a+b=4. When used with common activators, the transition metal complexes provide excellent single-site catalysts for olefin polymerization.
Abstract:
Improved liquid phase process useful in the hydrocyanation of diolefinic compounds to produce nonconjugated acyclic nitriles and to the liquid phase process of isomerization of the nitriles to, among other things, 3- and/or 4-monoalkene linear nitriles. The improvement involves conducting the process in the presence of zero-valent nickel and a multidentate phosphite ligand.
