    Abstract: A power swing door actuator configured for use in a power door actuation system in a motor vehicle having a vehicle door pivotably connected to a vehicle body for movement along a swing path between open and closed positions is provided. The power swing door actuator includes a power-operated drive mechanism connected to the vehicle door with a rotary driven member configured for rotation in response to selective actuation of the power-operated drive mechanism. An elongate rack pivotably connected to the vehicle body and the rotary driven member is maintained in engagement with the rack via a retention member. Rotational movement of the rotary driven member in a first direction causes the vehicle door to move in an opening direction, while rotational movement of the rotary driven member in a second direction causes the vehicle door to move in a closing direction.

    Abstract: According to some embodiments, a railcar with a pair of sidewall assemblies and a hopper comprises a plurality of transverse discharge openings. The railcar comprises a sliding gate assembly coupled to the hopper to control the discharge flow of lading. The sliding gate assembly comprises a support frame coupled to the hopper proximate the transverse discharge openings. The support frame extends longitudinally along the sidewall assemblies. The sliding gate assembly further comprises a plurality of discharge gates slidably coupled to the support frame; and a gate actuator operable to slide the plurality of discharge gates between a closed position, where each discharge gate is disposed adjacent to each of the discharge openings to restrict the discharge flow of lading, and an open position, where each discharge gate is disposed between discharge openings to permit the discharge flow of lading.

    Abstract: A refrigerator includes a cabinet, a door, and a door opening device. The door opening device includes a motor and a pushing member configured to be withdrawn out by the motor to open the door. The pushing member includes a first rack configured to be driven by the motor and to push one of the cabinet or the door, and a second rack configured to be driven by the motor and slidably coupled to the first rack in which the second rack at least partially overlaps with the first rack. The first rack is configured to move relative to the second rack in a first direction to open the door to a first angle, and to move together with the second rack in the first direction to move the door to a second angle greater than the first angle.

    Abstract: A closing device includes an actuator mechanism and a hydraulic damper mechanism. The actuator mechanism includes a pushrod urged by a resilient member towards its extended position. The hydraulic damper mechanism includes a piston, a first rack and pinion gearing for converting the translational motion of the pushrod into a rotational motion of a first pinion, a transmission, which includes a second rack and pinion gearing, between the first pinion and the piston for transmitting and converting the rotational motion of the first pinion into a translational motion of the piston, a one-way valve allowing fluid flow from a first side to a second side of the cylinder cavity when opening the hinged member, and a restricted fluid passage between the first and second sides of the cylinder cavity. The transmission provides together with the pinions of the first and second rack and pinion gearings a reduction gearing between the pushrod and the piston so that the piston reciprocates over a smaller distance than the pushrod.
