    Abstract: A base station may transmit to a device an indication of codebook subset restriction (CBSR), which includes at least a restriction on a frequency basis. The device may receive the indication of CBSR, and may transmit to the base station channel state information (CSI) according to the received indication of CBSR. The indication of CBSR may also include a restriction on a spatial basis and restrict the device from reporting the CSI based on a subset of the frequency basis in addition to the spatial basis per configuration of the base station. The indication of CBSR may include a separately configured maximum allowed amplitude of a weighting coefficient for the spatial basis and the frequency basis, where the weighting coefficient is associated with a column vector of a precoding matrix used by the base station and the device. The number of frequency bases and the frequency compression units may be determined based on a number of different criteria, for example the number of antennas, the number of subbands, etc.

The UE may employ any of various schemes for prioritizing transmission of one type of report over another, when temporal collisions occur between different types of report. The UE may employ a differential report that includes a state for indicating that a beam is not workable. The UE may employ a beam index that includes a state for indicating an invalid beam. A base station may receive a signal quality report and determine workability of a beam, e.g., by triggering a report of channel state information.

A user equipment (UE) may transmit capability information to a base station. Alternatively, the capability information may comprise a maximum throughput and associated processing delay of the UE. The base station may determine at least one of a maximum TBS per TTI or a number of parallel hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) processes to utilize in subsequent communications with the UE based on the capability information and a subcarrier spacing to be used for the subsequent communications.

    Abstract: In some embodiments, a user equipment device (UE) implements a method for discovering the presence of neighboring UEs using an on-demand discovery signal transmission technique. This discovery process may be performed to enable the UEs to perform peer-to-peer communications with each other, wherein peer-to-peer communications is defined as direct communication between the UEs without involving a base station. The UE may be configured to transmit a discovery request signal when it has moved greater than a threshold amount since transmission of a prior discovery request signal. The discovery request signal causes one or more neighboring UEs to each transmit a discovery signal in response, and also causes the UE which generated the discovery request signal to transmit its own discovery signal. The received discovery signal from each of the neighboring UEs is useable to discover, or detect the presence of, these neighboring UEs.

    Abstract: Techniques are disclosed relating to preemption indicators in the context of multiplexing different services on wireless physical layer frames. In some embodiments, a preemption indication is transmitted to indicate resources used by a preempting transmission. The preemption indication may be used when preemption is enabled, e.g., as indicated by an RRC message. The preemption indication may be common to multiple UEs. The resources used by the preempting transmission may overlap with other transmissions. In various embodiments, the disclosed techniques may facilitate signal preemption, e.g., by a low-latency, high-reliability data service.
